Any chance the manga will be boys love..... .
I agree that the art doesn't look much like Manga styled, more then anything it reminds me of those cartoon characters that used to be spoke person for Burger King kids meals. Last edited by Deltakiral on Thu Apr 26, 2007 5:44 pm; edited 1 time in total |

Bishops attempt to make manga-style art to connect with what's hip and cool feels like a car crash.

That is some really ugly art.
Also, I can't see their plan succeeding at all. It just comes off as being ridiculous, not "cool". |

So basiclly they hired a young aspiring artist who likes to call his/her work "manga" to illustrate their stuff?
Yeah, okay, whatever. |

I don't know what to make of this Western attempt of manga. It maybe looks more like 60s manga graphics perhaps. But please don't go dissing this scheme to attract youths to becoming Catholic. Christian-themed anime is not new. Even in the 80s, they had Super Book and Flying House.

Actually it looks like the style used for the original Robotech, Macross Saga, at least to my eyes it was the first thing I recalled.

I can't believe someone compared that amateurish comic to the work of Haruhiko Mikimoto, one of the best Japanese illustrator. |

This has Failure written all over it. For starters, If theyre looking to appeal to younger people, Idunno thta manga is the best choice. Is it really that popular? Sure it has lotsof fans, but its not like if you asked random people what are teenagers into I highly doubt they would yell "MANGA!" I guess if theyre looking to appeal to a larger group including adults and youths but still, I just dont see Manga being THAT popular that itll get some huge attention. Not to mention, are you really gonna go, Hey thats Manga, I think I'll convert to Catholicism.

I think it's nice that a Bishop tried something new. There are many of them out there that wouldn't try to reach out the younger people. It will probably fail, but hey, at least he tried to make a connection. I applaud him for it.

I'm 100% in favour of Catholic manga. Why? In a word, schoolgirls.
