According to AoD...
Quote:
Bandai Entertainment has announced the acquisition of... the Ghost in the Shell: SAC compilation movies

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex - The Laughing Man (OAV)

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex - Individual Eleven (OAV)

This is great news for those of us who couldn´t/didn´t purchase the 7 DVD series. I for one have been waiting for these movies for a long time and had lost hope of them ever being released here in the U.S.

I know there are still many great stand alone episodes, but atleast we´ll have all the complex episodes in the movie format.

Are you planning on picking up these compilations?

Do you already own the series?

Oh Yeah!
(trying to sound like the cool-Aid guy)

GITS:SAC is one of my favorite anime.
I currently don not own any DVD's of it though.
I can't get to the mall quick enough to buy some before they are sold out.

Have you played the PS2 game though? How about the PSP version?

My question is, are they any good. I mean they are 140 and 160 minutes, but will that feel rushed cutting it from the 650 minutes of the show. Are these just short versions of the seasons or is there new material.

Oh, ok I just read the coment on the laughing man one it says it is the shows mixed with new material. I would be interested in hearing how these are from someone who has seen them.

But yeah this is great, it's sort of like the poor-mans way to own the seasons of GitS:SAC.

My thought are that the Laughing man would be really enjoyable since you could just watch those (Complex) episode and not ever watch any of the standalone episodes.

I haven't finished the individual 11 series (I am on Vol 5) and I don't think that it will make sense. Although there are specific episodes dealing with the individual 11 all the other episodes are related to the events that happen because of the 11 people.

I think that I might pickup the Laughing man since I enjoy that so much, I am going to wait to pass judgement on Individual 11 until I complete the series. But nonetheless gonna be happy if you are a GITS:SAC fan. Funny thing I just noticed right now, I am wearing a GITS:SAC from the SE vol 7 tin, wow that cool. That was a standalone episode of comedy Laughing Wow where do I come with this stuff?
Till next time,

No, I have season one and am buying the second season as it's released as well. I don't see any need to get the recaps. Maybe if I find them in a bargain bin or something.
