It's a reasonable concept, but the OVA was very poorly made.
I wonder how explicit the TV series is going to be able to be, though. I'll be unhappy if the heroine doesn't keep having one-night stands. |

I am sad I didn't wake up early enough to be first post in this thread.
And hey, I don't think the OVA was poorly made. I thought the animation was very pretty, and the music was a lot better than some other songs I've heard... sure there were some scenes that kinda have burned their image in people's minds forever though... *Points to Dachande's comment* That be the one.  Course I'm a rabid Papillon Rose fan since 2003, half-hearted since probably early 2002 or late 2001. So I'm just here to growl at some and tell others they rock.
 Actually on this matter, I would like to (once again, since I tried pointing it out through the form system when that was there and then once more later through e-mail though it didn't seem to be noticed or something) point out the many incorrect things on the current Papillon Rose listing. Just so... maybe it could get changed to an OVA one until the series starts?
The actual correct main title would be "Lingerie Soldier Papillon Rose" because that's even the English title printed on official merchandise. The official website isn't working anymore, it shut down around February of this year.  (Just may wanna make a note)
The cast listing on the page is for the Papillon Rose G movie, that much like the ONA was just basically fake and made up of songs, images, and written information on the official website. Tsubomi: Shiho Kikuchi Anne: Sachiko Kojima Rama: Tomoe Sakuragawa Regina Apis: Yuki Masuda Sister Biene: Sayaka Kinoshita Sister Pchela: Yui Sakakibara Master: Masashi Yabe Hikaru: Takehito Koyasu That up there is the cast list for the OVA. The name of the OVA episode was "Tsubomi no Yume wa Yoru Hiraku" I can even include scanned images to verify some of these things. I'm trying to correct something that I feel needs to be corrected and that has bothered me for a while now. Anyways I think that's pretty much all, a summary of the episode would be good to add too but I'm not good at writing summaries myself 
P.S. I know you have a form system again (it was gone for a little while) but since my last experience with that only succeeded in getting the opening/ending song information changed I'm not going to play with that unless someone comes in here letting me know it'll work for sure this time. 
 And sorry if I come off as crabby at all, I just woke up.

The part that got me to fall out of my chair was the "rose pinky Viagra!!!" So many thinks in that ONA that had me in tears I was laughing so hard. It was just so cheesy but so damn funny. |

Aha, I never saw that series, but definately heard of it a few years back. I've listened to the music, however, and I really liked it. I remember that there were a ton of loyal fans for it online. But yeah, being a 16-year-old girl right now, I have no interest in the series except the music~

If it weren't for the fact that there is still some awesome anime on the airwaves and it is guarenteed to be some more coming out in the next year or so, this would probably be the Jump The Shark point for anime in general. Honestly, it's hentai on network TV! What good can come from that!?!

Okay, I'm going to say this now.
The fact they are putting this on TV should OBVIOUSLY mean there is going to be NOTHING in it that's so horrible as to NOT be allowed on TV. 
And there was nothing that bad in the OVA either, the worst part was what was meantioned near the beginning of this thread. And the only really bad thing about that was how unexpected it was. There was nothing explicit. There was nudity but it was no more than what is shown in other anime on TV when there's nudity (I've seen more boobs in screenshots of an episode from Girls Bravo than I did in the Papillon Rose OVA! )
Hollerama - There are people 14 years old, maybe younger, on some of the Papillon Rose fan communities online. There is nothing wrong with it. I say if you can at least check out a few episodes of the series once it starts, if you don't feel right about it after that maybe it just wasn't meant for you. The official website did not have a 'Are you 18 or older' or whatnot thing at the entrance (like hentai game sites/hentai sites do). So thusly it shouldn't be assumed that the series is 'adult' only. |
