Not my favorite of his sketches, but still incredible. It's always fun to see how the professionals do it.

This makes me want to see ABe work on a fantasy anime, or do a dōjinshi of it.

The software is Corel Painter 12, not "Painter12".

[sigh] I had been hoping Painter12 was some free Japanese software comparable to Paint Tool Sai or something. Oh well.

Wow. I was thinking the same exact thing. If he can do hard sci-fi then he should definitely be able to pull fantasy off.

Wow you can really tell by the experience and natural skill that ABe has. He knows what colors to dab it without a second thought.

I came in here to post that but it looks like two people already beat me to it Wink ......All I could think of watching that was I wish this was something he was actually working on.

Speaking of something he's working on, and not to derail the thread, but has there been any news on Despera? That was announced a while back and I haven't heard anything since.

I watched every minute of this in 1080p on my Apple 24" LED. Truly stunning work from a master artist. Hopefully we can look forward to new art from ABe soon.

His official web site links to the final image on pixiv. It may find its way into one of his doujinshi art books.
