True. What I've seen of the series so far via the Madman Screening Room is that it has stock characters, an uninspired plot and unremitting fanservice. It's redeemed, however, by a glorious visual style. Also, the historical premise is intriguing. |

Your assessment of Samurai Girls is pretty accurate, although I would also add that I found the final episode to be surprisingly strong.
