Akira is one of the first animes I have ever seen, and to say the least, it is an essential anime to watch. In retrospect, it isn't really that great of a movie compared to other animes out there but when you first see it Akira will blow your mind. If you’re new to anime I highly recommend this, it will open a world to you that doesn’t involve Pokemon or Dragon Ball Z. |

What the hell was I thinking... At Anime Boston 05' I decided to lay on the floor while watching Appleseed and... Sadly (by the way it was like 2:30(I think)) I fell a sleep mid-way through. I was a total mess waking up in and out of this boring film. It might have been better if I was conscious... but... this is how I rate it... if it couldn't keep my attention and I literally fell a sleep while watching, it really must be that bad. Boo. |

I had high expectations going into this series. At Anime Boston 2005 I dropped 140$ on this confident I would love this series. Unfortunately it wasn't as good as I expected it to be. Sure it was a good series, very funny at times, and I did enjoy it. It just didn't meet my expectations. It could have been because I watched the dub. Sometimes when you watch the dub it gives off a completely different feel than the original Japanese track. When I have the time I will watch Azumanga again in sub. |

I liked Berserk... I really did.... but... as great as it was it had a lot of loose ends that were never concluded. A lot of people say the manga is far superior (but my local barns and noble doesn’t have it :| ) I have yet to check it out but I will!!!! So if you like blood and action with a really good plot with effortlessly slick original animation berserk is for you! |

I'm a stickler for surreal situations that make you escape your own experience. Beyond is a short film that makes you feel "that" feeling just for a moment... that alone is worth watching it. I hope you know what “that” feeling feels like… cause if you don’t you should try to find it. |

Mainly driven by computer animation Blood: The Last Vampire is a classic blood ridden / ugly bad guy (thing) / vampire hunter story. It's not really an essential anime unless you’re into vampires, blood, and stuff pertaining to that genre. Needless to say some parts of the film I didn’t want to eat my popcorn chicken anymore.... |

A take on an old classic; Bubblegum Crisis is more action and boobs than you could IMAGINE!!! Well... actually no there are no bare boobs… but you can imagine. Bubblegum Crisis is a fairly decent anime. Nothing really special about it… although it’s really good until the end; the plot (as like in most animes) gets so crazy that you don’t understand it (I think!). It's worth seeing but it's been a while since I’ve seen it so... maybe it's not worth seeing. |

Instead of watching the super bowl, my friend and I watched all of DNA. What a good time that was I’ll never forget it, we just sat and watched the whole thing with tons of dip and a bunch of chips. DNA is one of the more enjoyable series out there, the main character is destined to impregnated 1,000 women, and all of his sons will impregnate 1,000 women and the process will continue forever. So a girl from the future comes back to change his DNA, so in the future there isn’t a population problem! Now if that doesn’t make you want to see this series than I don't know will!! |

Sure the scenes where the Aieris (I can't spell X_X) theme was played, I shed a little tears, but the one thing that made me rate this down was the fact that is had Waaaaaaaaaaaay too much action. The only reason why this good a "good" rating is because about 2-3 years of my childhood playing this game over and over again. If I had never played FF7, I would have given it a very, VERY, low rating. I have no idea why people rate this so high, the story was total crap. |

This was one of those series that I watched from the night before to the point I had to go to work; it was like a cocaine addiction! A fruit basket is great, and more importantly it has one of the most original plots ever. I highly suggest you see this you won’t regret it. |

Once it hit that point I could tell that there was more to this series than meets the eye. Fullmetal Alchemist is all about sacrifice and eye for an eye a tooth for a tooth. You'll see, watch it. |

The Count of Monte Crisco was adapted into futuristic terms for the anime Gankutsuou. Beautifully animated by GONZO, (damn there having a good year) the colors don't move around the characters but rather the characters move around the colors! It may be hard to understand but once you see it you will understand perfectly. I had no idea that the Count of Monte Crisco was such a beautiful story! Watching Gankutsuou makes me want to read the book! |

Such a beautiful series but I whish I was longer, I could watch GTO forever, I took the whole series down in 3 days (that’s an average 14 episodes per day!). Kare Kano is kind like us, we all have potential at some point in our lives and well, His and her Circumstances started out with so much potential and then ended up dropping out of school and failed. I went to Boston to see the premier for Howl's. I of course had HUGE expectations for this movie; it was a studio Ghibli movie! Immediately (and I say this as a straight man) Howl swept me off my feet! I was so moved by Howl that I literally skipped through the streets of Boston with many people looking and gawking at me. I didn't care I was totally wooed by Howl's Moving Castle. This movie put me in such a good mood -- I can't wait for the Region 1 release! |

It took a little while for this one to sink in. At first I rated it excellent... but as I thought about it more... and more... and more... I came to the realization of how great this series really was. That final scene… man… Just like they say, it defiantly has a more conclusive ending than Evangelion; though I'm not sure which is better. All I know, both series are masterpieces in my book. |

It was 1:30 AM I had just spent all day at anime Boston 2003 tired as hell and after watching the first four episodes of The world of Narue I was about to go back to my hotel room. As people left the room and I was lazy and just sat there watching people leave, I looked at play list for the particular viewing hall I was in and an anime I never heard of before "spirit of wonder" was on next. Maybe it was the fact that it was really late and I was tried or that I was alone in a room with one ultra otaku wearing a yellow shirt from otakon 93' but I was totally immersed in this movie it really was the spirit of wonder, it was like an adventure I was partaking with these people in the movie. I remember almost nothing but the feeling remains, the next day I continued upon my conventioning, I would never forget that experience even though how hard it was to describe. |
