posted on by Jon Hayward
This week we have re-discovery of the oldest television anime, Gatchaman live-action and a pile of Supanova Sydney announcements;

The discovery of a copy of (now) oldest surviving Japanese television animation was revealed this week. Mogura no Aventure (Mole's Adventure) was a color television animation originally aired on NTV on the 15th of October 1958 and ran for eight minutes and fifty-three seconds. Mole's Adventure was animated using paper cut-outs and tells the story of Kuro-chan, a mole who embarks on a space voyage in his dreams. You can view screen shots of the film here.

The full trailer for the live-action Gatchaman film began streaming online with the theme song "Niji o motsu Hito" (Those Who Possess the Rainbow) by BUMP OF CHICKEN being featured in the trailers.

In terms of news from Supanova Sydney on Saturday, Madman Entertainment have announced the third Reel Anime 2013 title, A Letter to Momo. This is alongside Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo and 009 Re:Cyborg.

Also Hanabee announced two titles, Revolutionary Girl Utena and Daily Lives of High School Boys, both titles to be released later this year.

For those people who live near Fortitude Valley in Brisbane, QLD. Palace Cinemas are running a Pop-up Manga Festival with Studio Ghibli films screening every Friday night and Saturday midday from the 21st of June until the 27th of July.

And finally, ABC3 confirmed that Puelli Magi Madoka Magica will begin streaming on their channel from the 29th of June 2013.
