Third Reel Anime Title Revealed - A Letter to Momo

The announcement was made at Supanova Pop Culture Expo Sydney and made public via Madman's facebook page and website. A Letter to Momo joins Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo (announcement here) and 009 Re:Cyborg (announcement here) as part of the lineup. The final Reel Anime 2013 title will be announced at next weekend's Supanova Perth alongside further information for Reel Anime 2013.

A Letter to Momo follows the titular Momo, a 13 year old girl when she moves from Tokyo to the remote island of Shio following the death of her father. As she struggles with the sudden passing of her father she discovers an unfinished letter that her father was writing to her and that her new home has some otherworldly inhabitants. This is Hiroyuki Okiura's return to the director's chair following Jin-Roh and he spent seven years planning, writing, storyboarding and directing A Letter to Momo.

A Letter to Momo was first screened in Australia last year as part of the Melbourne International Film Festival.
