posted on by Jon Hayward
The Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF) will be screening the live-action Phoenix Wright Film and A Letter to Momo in August as part of the 2012 festival.
A Letter to Momo follows the titular Momo, a 13 year old girl when she moves from Tokyo to the remote island of Shio following the death of her father. As she struggles with the sudden passing of her father she discovers an unfinished letter that her father was writing to her and that her new home has some otherworldly inhabitants. This is Hiroyuki Okiura's return to the director's chair following Jin-Roh and he spent seven years planning, writing, storyboarding and directing A Letter to Momo.
Ace Attorney (Gyakuten Saiban) follows rookie defense lawyer, Ryūichi Naruhodō (Phoenix Wright) as the murder of his mentor sends him into the courtroom against rival prosecutor and childhood friend, Reiji Mitsurugi (Miles Edgeworth) to unravel a 15 year old mystery. The film is directed by Takashi Miike and stars Hiroki Narimiya (NANA 2, Gokusen LA) and Takumi Saitō (Space Battleship Yamoto, 20th Century Boys: Final).
There are currently no times for public sessions, we will update as soon as they are announced. You can visit MIFF's page for A Letter to Momo here and Ace Attorney here.
