Ghibli film opens in U.K. on Friday via Optimum Releasing; different U.S. dub planned
The film magazine Empire is streaming a 110-second clip from the British-dubbed version of Studio Ghibli's Arrietty film, prior to the film's British opening on Friday.
The British dub is different from the one being prepared for American release next February. The British cast includes Saoirse Ronan (The Lovely Bones/Atonement) as the tiny girl Arrietty; Tom Holland (one of the boy actors who took the lead role in the stage musical version of Billy Elliott) as a human boy, Sho; Geraldine McEwan (Marple) as Haru, a human housekeeper; and Olivia Colman as Arrietty's mother, Homily. (The four actors can be heard in the clip.)
Warning The scene comes from quite late in the film, and has some story spoilers.
