Department of Justice Files Suit Over Comics Scan Site
posted on by Gia Manry
The United States Department of Justice has filed a federal suit in Tampa, Florida against Gregory Steven Hart, whose website HTMLcomics.com was originally shut down by the FBI in April over suspected criminal copyright infringement.
The suit alleges that Hart ran six websites which provided over six million pages of comics and magazines to readers illegally, including such series as Wolverine, Spider-Man, and Catwoman. The official complaint also seeks a federal order for Hart to relinquish the domain names of his websites, including HTMLcomics.com and ComicBooksFree.com.
