posted on by Egan Loo
The North American distributor Del Rey has announced that it has acquired future volumes of Akimine Kamijyō's Samurai Deeper Kyo and Natsumi Ando's comedy manga Wild @ Heart (Wild Da Mon [Heart]). The Samurai Deeper Kyo historical adventure manga was a Tokyopop license from 2002 to as recently as April, when Tokyopop shipped the 34th volume. Del Rey will now continue the series starting with an omnibus book that will combine volumes 35 and 36 in December. There are 38 volumes in Japan, where it ran in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine from 1999 to 2006. Media Blasters released the 2002 television anime version in North America.
Wild @ Heart deals with teenaged Chino's attempts to raise Hyou, a boy that her father brings home from the jungle. The first volume will ship in North America next January. Ando also created Kitchen Princess, which Del Rey publishes, and Zodiac P.I., which Tokyopop publishes.
