Natsume Ono's Ristorante Paradiso Gets TV Anime
posted on by Egan Loo
The Japanese publisher Ohta Books has announced that Natsume Ono's Ristorante Paradiso manga will be animated for television. The manga's story is set in a restaurant in Rome that the heroine Nicoletta visits from the countryside. Her parents divorced when she was young, so her grandparents raised her while her mother tried to remarry. Unfortunately for Nicoletta, her mother abandons her even after remarrying. Nicoletta goes to the restaurant that is now owned by the new husband of Nicoletta's mother, and ends up apprenticing there among a kitchen staff of colorful characters.
The manga ran in Ohta Books' Manga Erotics F magazine from 2005 to 2006, and one compiled volume has been published. Ono is currently drawing a new side story called Gente - Ristorante no Hitobito (Gente: The People of the Restaurant) in the same magazine, and two volumes of the new story have been published. The Ristorante Paradiso anime will take over Fuji TV's "Noise" timeslot from the Michiko to Hatchin anime series.
