posted on by Sarah Nelkin
4Gamer began streaming a gameplay video for the first 10 minutes of Nippon Ichi Software's The Witch and The Hundred Knights (Majo to Hyakkihei) video game for the PlayStation 3 on Thursday. In the video, the legendary warrior Hyakkihei awakens in a swamp hut to witch Metallica's servant Arlechino (voiced by Kōji Yusa)'s voice. Metallica explains to Hyakkihei that her goal is to convert the entire world into a giant swamp.
The game takes place in a Little Forest adjacent to a large country. In the forest, there exists an evil forest witch, and also a genius witch of the swamp named Metallica (voiced by Mariya Ise), the crafty heroine of the story. The witches fought against each other for one hundred years, and neither had been able to win against the other. However, the tables turn one day when Metallica finds a magic script to summon a warrior of legend.
The video game will be released in Japan on July 25, with a normal copy of the game costing 7,140 yen (about US$71.50) and a first edition copy of the game bundled with a Metallica Nendoroid Petit figure, a 2-disc original soundtrack composed by Tenpei Sato, and a hardcover visual book costing 10,290 yen (about US$103). A downloadable version of the game will be available from the PlayStation Network for the price of 6,000 yen (about US$60).
