Evangelion Cast Fends Off Razor Nicks in New Schick Ads
posted on by Egan Loo
The official Japanese website for Schick Razors' Evangelion campaign began streaming two new "original movie" shorts on Friday:
In the first new short "Aratanaru Sakusen" (A New Operation), Nerv commander Gendō Ikari reveals to his Seele superiors the latest experiment to defend against razor nicks: Schick Shave Guard shaving foam.
In the second new short "Ayanami no Bansan" (Ayanami's Dinner), Gendō confesses to Evangelion pilot Rei Ayanami that his sensitive skin hurts from shaving, so Rei recommends Schick Shave Guard for a "gentle shaving experience."
Schick is offering a limited-edition Rei razor holder stand set, and Schick Hydro, Schick Quattro, and Schick Protector razors will each come with one of seven different Petit Eva figures on mobile phone straps. As a tie-in to the new shorts, Schick will offer its Shave Guard in a two-can pack with Evangelion designs:
The campaign website is also offering daily fortune-telling via "Eva's Horoscopes." The site is giving away free digital wallpaper to people who fill out a short membership form.
Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo, the third film in Hideaki Anno and Khara's remake of Gainax's Neon Genesis Evangelion anime series, will open on November 17.
