Huh, I never noticed the similarity between Chronicle and Akira. It's cool that he was influenced by such a great movie/manga. I still haven't seen Chronicle but have heard nothing but good things. It'd be interesting to see how Shadow of the Colossus translates to the big screen.

I can see it being a great success if done right, but I have a bad feeling it will fail miserably.... Hope I'm wrong, since I really enjoyed the game

If we really want a movie, they could just make a CGI montage of the game with really good graphics, trying to translate this movie to a live action mvoie could work, but videogame adaptations are mostly bad, if this ended up being bad, it would mar the reputation of the game.

Shadow of the Colossus has a beginning and an ending that might film well, but the vast bulk of the game is just Wander and Agro, and killing Colossuses. No room for dialog at all. I think it would have worked better as a silent movie, along the style of Douglas Fairbanks 1924 Thief of Bagdad, than more current styles.
Ico might be easier, having two human-like characters on screen most of the time.
How did Prince of Persia turn out? I avoided seeing it, on the chance that I would want to finish the game without spoilers.

I think having it be a silent film (or rather, dialogless aside from a subtitled Dormin. We obviously need music and sound effects!) would be perfect.
You couldn't fit all 20 collosi in though of course...
It would be an art piece, not a blockbuster film. And I'd really love it.
