one week? Hows that's supposed to achieve anything? feels like a knee-jerk nostalgia thing somehow.

Is this going straight to DVD/BD or are we going to have to wait 6+ months just because they decided to show this in 2 cinemas for 1 week?!

While I'm happy to see more Ruroken... As an old timer I was kinda hoping fans would FINALY get the Jinchuu Arc animated to cannon with the ending Watsuki San intended... to wash away that FOOLISH CRAP ADV "developed" for the fans back in the day, once and for bloody all. It will be nice to see the Kyoto arc again. Perhaps if this does well there will be more to come.

Wow, coming out in 2011? That's sooner than I thought! Maybe this will be leaked in enough time to be shown at my Anime Club before finals...
...well that's just downright evil of me, isn't it? |

Naming it, eh? How about "Rurouni Kenshin: Unnecessary Redundancy". That seems fitting.
Yes it's an awesome arc, but it was already adapted quite well in the series. How about some new material instead? |

This isn't really unusual though, is it? To my knowledge most anime movies don't get full-length theatrical runs. |

I believe the screening announcement is for December 17, not 7.

I hope that Aniplex will use the recent OVAs and movie trend of including English subtitled on their BD release of the new OVA. I would have preferred for the Enishi arc to be animated instead of remaking the Kyoto arc. But still better than no kenshin at all. And hey, if it does well then they might actually continue with the Enishi saga later.

I know of of two Rurouni Kenshin anime movies under the name Samurai X. Is this a reboot or a new story line. Either way I would like to see what new angle the story will take. I will be looking forward to the anime Ilove both the movies and tv series.

Usually they will be shown for a month or two if lower-key, but on more cinemas than 2! lol Would seem rather pointless to release this in 2 cinemas for a week, earn peanuts, when the real profit will be made from DVD/BD sales. Let's hope it gets a quick turn-around from cinema to DVD/BD! |

Samurai X is kind of like a dirty word for Kenshin fans. Anyway, those are prequels. This is a remake of the first arc. The Kenshin anime had 3 arcs - the first two from the manga and the third was original filler. |

second arc. it's a remake of the kyoto arc, is it not? which i have no idea how they're going to fit into two movies. yes, it could have originally been sped up a little, but this is a little much. gotta wonder just how much is going to be cut out. |
