We don't have any info yet on where in the K-ON! timeline the movie will take place, am I right? I'm curious what kind of story the peeps at KyoAni will make now with a movie budget in hand.

Orignal story set prior to their graduation. That's all we know. |

Awww, can't they at least deal with the girls in college life? I wonder what kind of story they're going to make. It's going to be really weird if it's something so "grandiose" that the girls don't even reference it at all in the TV series. |

So this isn't going to come out in subs until early next year, and it won't come out from Bandai (if it does) until early 2013. At least i'll be able to see it sometime.

Next year, sure. Early next year is quite optimistic though, considering it took KyoAni's last theatrical film eleven months to hit BD/DVD. In other words, we could be looking at almost two years from now before we see any subs... |

Damn, of course it would be in the Winter. I'm already going this summer for the Brotherhood movie and can't go again just to see the K-ON! movie.
As to watching it if you don't have access to a Japanese movie theater, which I'm sure refers to most people, the cam rips usually come out a week or two after (not that I'm encouraging them...) As for subs, the Haruhi movie last year had a camrip that got subbed about a month or so after the movie came out. Granted, it was no where NEAR as good as a BD or DVD but still. Same with Summer Wars 2 years ago, now that I think about it. I watched it in theaters when it came out (Thankfully it came out in the summer, so I was able to watch it in theaters), but I'm pretty sure there was a camrip and subs only a few months later. |

Going by one of ANN's previous articles, it's this person: Teppei Nojima. |

Pfft...was excited about the film but after reading that it's set before graduation my enthusiasm for the thing has been deep-sixed to the core. FFS guys the girls have graduated - time for the writers to do likewise.
But I'll still see the movie of course |

Well, remember that the manga is starting up again... They probably need to give Kakifly some time to make enough source material to adapt before they can continue the anime past the point where the original manga ended.
