Scientology would be fine if it was connected to all the money scams and you know, torture.

Anderson incorrectly stating that Neon Genesis Evangelion is 24 episodes invalidates his statement.

If one typo is enough to invalidate anyone's statements, then no human can make valid statements.

I thought a movie director could find better words to appropriately praise a work he admires because what he said wouldn't make me want to watch that series (if I hadn't already done so).

the ending was so messed up, but it was actually worth remembering It basically set the standards for many modern series

He wants to believe that Eldritch Abominations are attacking Japan and the only thing stopping them are a bunch of nutjobs who need therapist.

This is where all the obsession over the Eva mythos comes from. I fell victim to it, too, after I finished the series.
There's just so much pure content in that series.

Ok, cut the man some slack! There's been times I wasn't all that clear on episode counts of some major series, myself. It's fine that he admits he's an anime fan- this just goes to show how mainstream anime is becoming in our society. It's a far cry from when I first started watching Anime back in the 90's, and the majority of people I would encounter would remark: 'Just WHAT is it that you see in those cartoons?' LOL.
