Can you burn them on DVDs after you buy them? It looks like you can only view them on 2 PCs after you buy them - kinda precludes buying them if you cant view them on any PC after you buy them. I mean who keeps a PC beyond about 2 or 3 years anymore? You would have to keep a legacy PC with Windows on it just to view what you bought...
And its too bad the individual eps are $1.99 to rent... I'll just buy the DVD thank you. When the get the prices set right, and make it possible to make a permanently viewable copy in a regular DVD player, I think things will take off.

Seriously, what's the point? The anime is available on cable television and on DVD. The Death Note downloads only made sense because the show was not available anywhere else at that point.
Really, how stupid.

To get some money out of people that normally wouldn't bother buying the DVDs in the first place, probably. I really don't think they are trying to use this as an alternative for DVD buyers, but rather, they are trying to tap a new market.

Yeah, I can see that there technically is a point to this release, but for all of us here (or at least most of us here), there is no point.

Offer it to me with out the DRM and the box + DVD art included and I would probably start buying it that way. But with the DRM still on it, whats the point? It would just be more time for me to find a way to crack it, after I buy the DVD. And with buying the DVD I still get the box and stuff.

Now why don't they put the coming week's episode of Bleach on Adult Swim's Video section(formerly the Fix), as part of their old Friday Night Fix premieres? One episode for one night a week wouldn't hurt, especially for those who can't see the Saturday run.
