Sorry to set up a thread about this its just I came across this short snynopis on a DVD retail site I use and I'm worried its gave aweay a plot point due to the fact that I havn't read any other snynopis that mention what this one does

Sounds like basic premise to me...

EDIT: And, if I didn't know anything about the series (more or less my case) and I was in the mood to "blind buy", I'd be more likely to buy from a retailer whom includes at least a little meat from the plot in the description rather than a vague "psychological action drama" or a "only one man can save the world" description.

It was specifically this bit I was worried about. Most tidbits I have read on it mention a horrible secret but don't go as far as to mention what that secret is whereas this seems to. Its just the whole spoiler[brainwashing] thing sounds like something that would be revealed as the series goes along. Its quite possible I'm wrong, at least I hope so. It really irritates me when major plot points are given away. I had the ending of of NGE and Cowboy Bebop spoiled for me and now I'm paranoid.

That's the exact same synopsis ADV put on the back of the DVD cover. And I wouldn't really call it a major spoiler for the series, as you find most of that out in the first one or two episodes anyway.
