Doesn't mean that there arent enough female fans of MadoMagi (there's a -lot-), just that most are capable of finding partners without having to pay a fee.

Just a thought, but...
What if they hosted a matchmaking event based on a show that would get the Fujoshi (or however you spell it) crowd excited. Maybe?

The article mentions a Tiger & Bunny matchmaking event.
I wonder if the K-ON! applicants who don't get in the event get refunded o_0

I just don't get these matchmaking events...how's it supposed to have anything to do with the anime's?
Do they cosplay during their matchmaking? The men all dressed like Kyubey and the women dressed as gullible little girls?

HAHAHAHAHAHAH!!! No surprise that Japanese women don't want a bunch of demented otaku with smelly feet!

Probably not. At Visual Kei concerts, most tickets are given on a lottery basis, 50 bucks to buy in, and you don't get a refund if you lose.

Aren't these events usually better to have the guys pay but have the girls get in for free?

Or better yet, have the girliest-looking male otaku dress up as the magical girls and take the place of the real females.

really? i don't think i could bring myself to pay that much just for a lottery no matter how much i liked a band, especially given the avid female fanbase alot of bands have these days, odds are you probably wouldn't get a ticket anyway

You know, there probably are female fans of Madoka, just not of the legal age of consent there.

This is in fact even less surprising than the announcement of an English dub for Tiger & Bunny.

Surprised that no one sued the event holders for gender discrimination, since the guys have to pay an arm and a leg to get in, and the women get in dirt cheap.
