I'm sure that the really big manga fans go on shopping sprees for titles they would like to read or their favorite titles they just can't for the next volume of. Have you bought manga, or a lot of it, but haven't gotten around to reading them yet for various reasons? If so, then what are they, and why?

Several volumes I have bought of Ranma and Rave were sitting in a box for some time, but now they're just sitting on the shelf, just waiting. Ranma especially since it's been two months since I bought the ones I haven't read yet. My other titles include Fushigi Yugi, and Mythical Detective Loki. There's several good reasons why I haven't been getting down to reading these. School, work, playing video games, and the fact that at times these titles are at a slow pace that doesn't appeal to me enough to want to read them.

I have volumes 2 and 3 of the Basilisk manga sitting around untouched. They just got here the other day but I've been too busy to sit down and read. I'm actually pretty surprised that's all I have right now in my 'manga to read' stack, usually there's a bunch. I tend to buy my manga in large quantities from Amazon because they have really nice prices. I have a big order coming in soon plus I've pre-ordered nearly all of the Del Rey manga coming out on the 30th so there will be more soon...

Yah I have a whole ton sitting around waiting to be read, it seems like most times I go out to get some manga I end up getting a bunch... buying in bulk I guess you could call it.

Currently on my too read list I have volumes from Death Note, Hana-Kimi, Mars, Nana, Pastel, Saikano, Ultra Maniac, and xxxHolic .

I think I'll probably read my volumes of Hana-Kimi next, since I've really enjoyed what I've read so far, I love the plot and characters.

I have Land of the Blindfolded volumes 6-9 I haven't touched yet, and Kamikaze Kaito Jeanne vokumes 2-3 that are sitting on my shelf too. I have put these to the side because I have decided to continue reading Faeries' Landing. Like as it was stated....I like to go on manga shopping sprees because I have a few series going on at once, and I don't want to fall too far behind in buying them so I will get what's out of these titles a few at a time. Did that make sense? hahahaha. For example, when I decided to start reading Hana Kimi, I was already reading 3 or so other titles, but I knew that they were already on volume 10 of the series, so I would buy them 4 volumes at a time so I would have them and could get caught up quickly while still having to wait for the next volumes of Full Moon, Kare Kano, and Fruits Basket to come out. Now that I have caught up with Hana Kimi, I have started to mass buy Boys over Flowers for the same reason. I mean, they are already up to volume 21 or something like that. Besdies, if I buy and bulk and own the whole series, then I can read them at my leisure. That is the case with Land of the Blindfolded. I have the whole series, and can wait to read it when I want to devote time to it without the fear of it going out of print. That happened to me with Peach Girl, and found myself scrambling to get titles as they started disappearing from the shelves. That also tells you how long it took me to start reading PG.

I've got a few I haven't read, just the latest volumes of Angel Sanctuary, Aishiteruze Baby, Kashimashi, The Prince of Tennis, Zatch Bell, Chibi Vampire, Ouran High School Host Club and The Law of Ueki, but that's just because I haven't gotten around to reading them yet (lord help me when it comes to getting February's releases without finishing the ones I have).

I also have Case Closed Vol. 12 and Dr. Slump Vol. 4 to read, but they were cheap acquisitions, and are at the bottom of the to-read pile, so it'll probably be a while before I read them.

I picked up a big stack of slayers manga for nothing a year ago, and have read roughly 0 volumes. Have the first volume of death note laying around as well, but It's only been a week since I got that. V for vendetta (I know it's not manga) has been sitting around about as long as death note. I'm terrible when it comes to this stuff, daredevil born again sat around for over 6 months before I read it. And that one was being borrowed at that, great book too.

Something I've been meaning to read for a while is Fullmetal Alchemist - we have it on the shelf as my partner reads it but I never got into it. I started reading the first volume back when he started buying the series but I don't think I even finished it. I loved the anime so it's not like I have something against FMA, initially the manga just didn't appeal to me. I should really give it another go, now that I've cleared pretty much everything else from my reading list.

There is another title that I haven't been reading even though it's on the shelf - that's Basilisk. I did read the first volume, but just didn't think much of it so I'm not sure if I'll bother with the next volumes (again, hubby reads it so it's there). And I finally broke down and bought some CLAMP, first volume of Chobits is waiting but I just haven't picked it up yet - I'm not terribly interested but I thought I should check it out to see what people are raving about.

I like to buy my manga in bulk whenever my local shop has a 50% off sale, so there are a lot of series that I bought and enjoyed the first couple volumes, then bought the next 10 or so at a sale but havne't gotten around to reading them. Boys Over Flowers and Please Save My Earth are probably the biggest examples of that.

I just bought all of Maison Ikkoku in trade format just a few days ago, but since I've already read the series (I own the entire thing in single issue form) I didn't immediately pounce on the stack of trades. Soon, though.

I don't have any currently, but that's because I just read vol 2 of Eternal Sabbath, which had been sitting in my room for a little bit. However, since I usually only by a few volumes of a series at a time, I usually don't have a problem. The biggest delay I can think of was when I actually forgot about some books that I had bought, only to remember them a month or so later.

I have 19 through 23 of Vagabond on my shelf unread because volume 18 has yet to come in the mail. I got 17 and 19-23 for my birthday and had to order 18 online since it wasn't in any of the physical stores in the area. But rightstuf and their sales never fail to always take a long time to send out the goods. Sad

I have a huge stack of manga comics (not the trade paperbacks or collected editons) stored under my bed that I haven't touched going back to the early-mid 1990's, & most of that is from the Oh! My Goddess series; I really like Fujishima's artwork, but the story was boring IMO, so I only read a few issues. The rest are untouched & still in comic bags.

Unless it's a new volume of BECK I usually don't get around to reading new volumes til around a month after I buy them (even though I always buy them within a couple weeks of release). I have the entire Wolf's Rain series sitting on my shelf although it's only 2 volumes so it's not too bad, just waiting til I have time to read it in one fell swoop. I also have the 2nd volume of Ai Yori Aoshi for about 2 years I bought it for 25 cents at a book sale. Just haven't been willing to touch it yet.

Normally, I read all my manga within the week I buy it. I guess I'm so happy I got manga that I have to read it right away. Also, for me a regular manga takes about 30-60 minutes to read and I usually read it all at once.

I think I'm falling just a tad behind on Fruits Basket, Tsubasa, and XXXHolic.

I'm also trying to get all the manga out so far for Hanakimi, Rurouni Kenshin, and Deathnote before I start reading it.

Just no time for reading Smile I love those one book manga or novels
