That's cool! I hope more people watch it because it's a very solid and complete battle shonen!

Does Netflix have the dub? It would be weird if they didn't have it.

I hope this is a sign that Toei eventually adds other subs to the service.
Anyone even slightly interested should watch this one; it’s a very solid show. |

I have to ask, does the dub give everyone an old timey British accent like they have in the dubs of the Dragon Quest video games? To me that's such an iconic part of the games that it would make me 100% more likely to watch Dai dubbed instead of subbed. |

Really? That's one of the worst parts of the American localization for Dragon Quest for me. It's so unfitting and completely clashes with the purely distilled anime-aesthetic and attitude of the series, especially if you play with Japanese voice-overs. Anyway, no, the anime does not do that. The subs or the dub from what clips I've seen of the dub. Anime usually gets better localization than games do though. I can't imagine how people would react if anime translations started giving everyone British accents and Shakesperean dialog for fantasy-based series like some video games do. |

I've seen a pretty good chunk of the dub and it doesn't do that, but it is a rare modern Canadian dub and features a lot of veterans from Ocean Studios and the like including actors like Brian Drummond and Paul Dobson, and goes for a kind of 90's saturday morning cartoon vibe that really fits the show. I think it came out really well At any rate I'm glad the show is making it's way to a bigger platform because it definently needs more attention than what Toei and Crunchyroll gave it during its intial simulcast |

Firstly, it's technically done in the UK so it'd be a British localization, not American (also uses British spellings instead of American) Secondly, I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, AND THAT'S FINE, but I like how it goes for this 80s Jim Henson-y Fantasy vibe rather than just "anime game" (very different feel from Dai:s dub but they BOTH capture the game series very well). Really makes the game stand out compared to other JRPG s. That's just me tho. |

It's up in a bunch of markets. So far, it looks like Netflix only bought the first 50 episodes, though.
