Now they have no excuse for not releasing it soon. Though I kinda suspect some of this minute donations are fake. Odd for it to jump so much in the last few days. I know bursts are common but it was like 20% which isn't so common.

Depends what "soon" is. VNs take a long time to translate. The KS page says they're planning to release it in January 2021, which is about in line with what we've seen from these longer kickstarted VN translations like Clannad and Muv-Luv. Possible that some work is already in the can; as the article says, Sekai originally announced Rewrite back in 2017. Of course, no long-delayed VN kickstarter will ever be as infamous as the Megatokyo VN (funded in July, 2013 for a proposed February, 2014 release).
I pity-pledged $50 with two days to go just out of a perverse sense of duty to the dying VN form, though I'm not very interested in Rewrite itself (I bailed on the anime). I'd much rather have seen them do Key's Angel Beats! 1st Beat, but that title seems like a dead letter at this point. Anyways, last minute bursts aren't uncommon (Kickstarter does have a "remind me" email feature), but also self-dealing to get a campaign across the wire isn't unheard of either. EDIT: Looking at the Kicktraq charts of other VN kickstarters, the late push on Rewrite+ doesn't strike me as suspicious at all. Compare its charts to some others; I don't see a significant difference:
All of them have a visible uptick at the end, even the ones that made their minimum funding right away. The most unusual is Irotoridori no Sekai, which I recall made its funding level with like 90 seconds to spare. |

Hey I've finished the Rewrite VN and I also bailed on the anime. (Also thank you for contributing, I really wanted to see this get funded) If there are any fake donations, they'll know about it by now, given they've charged my account for my donation. |

I was getting worried about this one, it seems to me like there were some procrastinators holding out to see if there was a chance and then went all in.
I'd also have more interest in a go of Angel Beats 1st beat.. which I am assuming is dead because no other volumes got released. As for the rewrite anime.. no thanks. Knowing very little about the VN I started watching the anime.. and gave up on it. Several friends of mine that have played rewrite told me to stay away.. so for the most part I have. I'd also like to see a physical release for Little Busters.. as that is digital only at this point. |

20% isn't uncommon enough to be suspicious. Before, 30% wasn't too unusual. The only KS Sekai Project has done where I found the funding to be suspicious was Tokyo Chronos. |
