Manga is a book.
Anime is not a book.

Enjoy. Very Happy

There probably would have been many places you could have looked to find this answer. A dictionary would tell you, as would a search on wikipedia or google. However I'll save you the few moments of time spent on such an arduous task.

Anime is, well, an animated television show or film from Japan, and manga is a graphic novel, or the Japanese equivalent of a comic book.

Thank you thank you for this little moment of human interaction and humanity. I think like I will cherish it?
Ha ha.
My next question which is actually a rhetorical question if no one answers and a non-rhetorical question if someone does venture: when did we stop being human to one another and began to enjoy humanity vicariously, through manga and anime? Don't get me wrong: I am an AVID fan, however, to have such strange responses to such a simple asking for help, is not very nice. To put in the least. And, also, nobody forced those who responded to respond, correct? So, if people choose to respond, why respond with caustic or sarcastic remarks? If you read the question, and you do not know, then why respond? I did not sign up and ask a question to get people to respond with reading me morals on my question that is asked, which is not obscene and appropriate to the time and place. So, why get all mean and start throwing unrelated remarks at an innocent person? After all, you don't know me, I am a stranger, and I do not know you. Why do you people feel it is ok to cross that boundary of propriety and speak to me with such a familiarity? You are no one to me, and I am no one to you, this is a forum, I asked a simple question. Either you know the answer or you don't, beyond that what's the business you have with me?
I am a little disappointed by these comments, it is my first time here and I nobody has a right to comment on my question assuming my motifs or my knowledge, stating unrelated to the question personal perceptions, policies and beliefs. You want to state your beliefs, post a question on a forum and discuss a merit of asking a question over doing own research. Do not please use my thread to dump your anger, frustration and some beliefs on me and those who come to help.
Thank you very much.
Ulf

Considering your question, I think the responses were pretty tame. You asked a very obvious question and people pointed that out. Get over it.

You're an AVID fan, but you don't know the difference between anime and manga? Do you really know what the word avid means? An avid fan would already know the difference, they would also have looked it up rather than ask -- it would have been quicker than writing the post. Not to mention saying "one more time" makes it seem like you've been told before, it's like forgetting the difference between a cartoon and a comic book. If you think the responses you got got were harsh then you, my friend, are too sensitive for the internet. Take my advice and bail out now before someone actually says something worth being upset about.
