The united nations is a joke and VERY hypocritical as well. For some that may not know there has been a slew of instances where U.N. "peace keepers" sexually abusing children.

Say what you will about "underage characters" being in sexual situations such as teens in high school DxD or To Love Ru "which is not for-everyone". Still how can anyone take U.N. seriously? Sounds like a lot of blah blah blah that won’t go anywhere - it’s way too broad to hold up under US constitutional scrutiny (no exceptions for artistic and literary merit = no go) and Japanese loli / shouta culture cannot be crushed at this point.

Each and every time they fail miserably and upon further investigation it's found out they were involved in legit pedo rings like come on. At this point the UN exists to be laughed at. And sure enough, I came here to laugh at you. |

This comment section is likely going to become a mess. I'll just say this is F'ing stupid. Drawings aren't real and yet censorship keeps winning. Instead they should be helping actual child, ban things like child beauty pageants that are harmful and abusive to actual children.
The UN is a useless nonsensical joke. As it's been stated already they've had problems within their own ranks with UN members being rapists and abusers. So many times people try to ban anime and manga media, then it's discovered they're a rapist or have some kind of skeleton in their closet. Always take a look at the people throwing out these censorship calls, they're very commonly trying to take focus and pressure away from themselves. Also for anyone in favor of the UN here, it's a slippery slope that will lead to a lot of things being banned. Oh Dragon Maid? Banned. The laws are always vague enough to start banning things left and right. I'm not normally a fan of "The Anime Man" but he has a good video discussing this. |

Ha! The UN thinks it can succeed at passing some law about artistic content, where recent attempts in the social media sphere to police artistic content totally failed? They're going to have the exact same problems, like how the heck do you discretely identify "this cartoon drawing is a child" vs "this one is clearly an adult." I'm convinced you can't do it.

Because they aren't exactly the brightest lightbulbs that are screwed in. It's the definitely of insanity, they've been trying the same thing expecting a different outcome. And like last time, I oppose them, they are hypocrites (UN employees have been caught with everything from drugs to child porn) and useless in actually doing something about real issues (they raised concerns about things such as compensated dated and did nothing about it). |

Why should the UN study real crime when they can makes vague rules about thought crime. This is what you get from a vast unelected bureaucracy that routinely commits horrific crimes to which no one is ever held accountable. There is a reason they have to sneak this into the updated guidelines since if they did a separate "Don't lewd the loli" guidelines even the UN would have trouble explaining the purpose of it.

I like that they at least tried to give a reasoning nd explicitly mentioned "realistic depictions of children", which leaves lolicons alone and addresses those few cases where "fictional children" are the result of the exploitation of actual children.
But I'm probably the only one here who bothered to calmly read the whole thing.
Because they aren't the Interpol. |
