Chesapeake, my beautiful hometown, back in the global news again for another murder twice in two years(last year, 6 killed in mass shooting). *sigh*
But why get the story from WTVR? They are not even in the broadcast range of Chesapeake. WTKR(A CBS network) is one of our 3 hometown TV news networks.

Damn. Sounds like the Security guard severely overstepped his bounds from my POV, but of course we only have this little tidbit of information. That's pretty brutal in any event.

We made a mistake.
The human race just isn't smart enough yet to handle a game like Pokémon Go without getting themselves killed.
We made a grand error in judgement.
Oh God, what have we done!?

The same could be said about firearms.

There is a severe lack of information in the article to determine what happened. Don't get your panties in a wad until you get all the facts relating to the events. It's possible he tried to run the guard over or had something that looked like a weapon. We have no idea and neither the the author of this trash report.

Cars and careless driving kill more people than guns or knives.

Im still mad that they keep mentioning the truck incident even though it was stated that pokemon go had nothing to do with what happened.

Tries to run over a person for whatever reason -> 6 shots to the face
Sounds legit.

In America, you get shot for trespassing period.
The guy was warned multiple times, the guard opening fire was him doing his job. If you're so obsessed over a game to put yourself and others in danger, maybe you deserve to get shot on sight for trespassing.

Just run... i don't think any old man should get shot 6 times for any reason. Running over someone is a pretty cra* thing to do. But if you manage to dodge, then just call the cops.

This doesn't make the problem of shootings in this country any less of an issue.

No you don't unless you're trespassing on the property of some trigger happy lunatic.

This. If something is coming straight at you, don't run in the opposite direction. Move to the side. Further, I don't think death for trespassing is fair reciprocation, even if the driver did try to run the guard over. I mean, we're talking about a van here. It's not like a person, where the torso has a much greater mass than the limbs. You move to the side, then shoot the tires. This is why it's important to think before you act, and to train people to be able to do so in situations that require quick reactions, such as this one.
