You mean to tell me that no one at ANN is watching Anime of the Season, Valkyrie Drive? That's too bad, pure entertainment, hilarity, and sexuality taken to the max.

I think Theron might still be watching it (he was the only one who did a preview of it), but regardless it didn't get enough votes/interest to get a weekly review from episode 1. Might get a late weekly review like Shimoneta did last season, but I don't think it's getting that much interest to justify it.

I would definitely like to see the number of votes each series is getting each week, instead of just the rating.
I suspect that Ushio and Tora is really underseen despite the higher ratings, for instance. And other shows might be widely watched but get middling ratings.

They're must all be too busy watching AOTD Naruto Shippuden.

Surprised Utawhatever has dropped so low. I know the show is going nowhere slowly, but people I see talking about it still seem to like it, despite that. I'm not one of them, mind you. Did something particularly bad happen in the last episode?

It's a ranking, so if something is staying constant but everything else is getting better (or rather getting better grade) then it'll slowly go down in ranking.
Usually big popular show will have there ranking slowly go up because the people who are care less about it (and who will rank them lower) will slowly drop the shows, thus raising the average because the people who consistently rate them high will keep rating. But utaw/e is a sequel that nobody ever really asked for, so people who haven't watched S1 won't watch it to begin with (so it won't get the positive effect of people who don't care leaving since they never started watching) but at the same time it doesn't really have hardcore fan who will consistently rank it up since its a little known, little love franchise. Thus its relative ranking goes down without signifying a drop in quality. I don't know what happen the last one though, recap episode maybe, that's what happened with the perfect insider?

It was the 9 places in one week drop that stood out to me. I haven't been keeping up with it, but that would suggest something about that episode being particularly bad.

I don't know if it was that it revolved largely around a BL manga found and drooled over by the loli princess or the spanking of the new even more loli princess at the end, that didn't happen to be the "preferred" fanservice for the audience. But one or both is probably the most likely source.
I can tell you as one who watched, and like the reviewer Hope, have fond memories of the first season; that I am about done with this one. Even with the intriguing ending for #8 I am tired of waiting for a coherent story, which is the complete opposite of the first season. I won't claim it had a mind blowing story, in fact it may have been a bit sub-par. But what the first season did was slowly build up and increase the tension to a satisfying conclusion at the end of the season. (at least that is how I remember it.)
This one is just like, here is a trope, a bit of fan service, more trope, some part of the story that you have no idea how it fits with anything, more fan service; see you next week. (translation of this paragraph: boring.)
Edit: decided I should use spoiler tags
