I'd totally be down to buy the PS3 version, doesn't look all that bad to me.

This play a lot like Dynasty Warriors. I look at the PS3 and PS4 version, not much of a difference (other then the PS4 run at 1080p and 60 fps).

This "games at 60FPS on the marginally upgraded PS4" gimmick is really shitty, and just what I expect from the industry. PC master race.

But the PC version of Dragon Quest Heroes runs at 0p and 0fps spoiler[because it doesn't exist.] |

PC stopping being master race once everyone jumped shipped to consoles to cash in on the mainstream revenue back in 2008. Now PC is filled with nothing but indie non-games, unfinished early access games, and pay to win micro transaction games. We're at the point where people celebrate the PC getting a port of a 5+ year old console game. PC gaming from the 80s and 90s are over. -Stuart Smith |

The huge graphical advancements from the PS3 to PS4 have yet to emerge. It's still early days, but it seems with each successive console generation since the PS1, the graphical advancements have become less and less pronounced. I'm not even sure if the PS3 gen, if you took away the 720p and widescreen format, is all that big a leap from the PS2. There are many prime era PS3 games that wouldn't look all that much more impressive than prime PS2 if you took away the fact that it is in HD.

Well, IHS data shows that PC is the biggest gaming platform globally, representing $32B (39%) in consumer spending on games content worldwide in 2014. 'PC games have surpassed console games globally' (Europe in the driving seat) PC graphic cards-maker AMD is in the unique position that they dominate the CPUs for the home consoles; yet take a look at their PC gaming revenues: And Microsoft too in the unique position that they're a big player in both consoles and PC gaming, so they can compare gamers on both sides: It's the MOBAs and Steam/Humble Bundle/GOG sites being big factors (and of course the ubiquitous sales). And with DirectX 12 coming up, which is the first big upgrade in years, better graphics for less power requirements allowing more possibilities.
It's diminishing returns as the processor power increases - the biggest leaps are at the beginning when there were still a lot lacking in the graphics department. |
