Is it full price to see just one part? That's a ton of money

They're really doing this on a mere $20 mil?

Keep in mind for comparison, Dredd was $45 mil.

So, this is a 7-part series that consists of a 12-episode TV show, a bonus "Episode 0" and is followed up by a feature film.

That, uh... isn't confusing at all. Nope, not one bit. Confused

Yes and no. They built an Ingram, but its just a prop, not y'know, an actual moving robot. As seen in the trailer, scenes of it moving will be CG.

The Kurata on the other hand is an actual, real-life, fully functional (and very expensive) mecha. No CG required.

That's really cool, I also like how Mamoru Oshii will be directing the 2015 movie as well.

I'm wondering how many, and what kind of, mods they had to make to the Kuratas, considering the Kuratas was "weaponised", while the construction labor wouldn't be. Expensive, but if they get what they want out of it (look, size, movements), then why not? If things keep progressing as they are, maybe in another ten years time they won't have to CG the Ingrams. Smile

That's one expensive prop for a movie, which arguably on a small budget.
