Media Blasters has announced that they have licensed the second season of Ah! My Goddess. Hopefully, and Almighty-willing, we'll see the first of the second season DVD's before the end of the year.

Hmm, they didn't mention that at their A-Kon panel, but I must have missed it. I hope M-B doesn't break the bank on this: to paraphrase what the guy said, Media-Blasters always looks for some "flagship" popular title like Berserk or Rurouni Kenshin, (and maybe to a lesser extent others like 12 Kingdoms, Genshiken, and Midori Days) as a way to keep retailers in contact and make sure product gets on the shelves. AMG was pretty expensive for them, to the point where he wasn't sure if they'd ever make any money off it, but they needed that "flagship" title and out of all the ones that were up for bids at the time, AMG was the only "sure bet."

You can be sure of that. What's going to be of interest is how many more years will Media Blasters license each following season because you can be pretty sure that TBS will produce a third season since the series is doing pretty well for broadcast in Japan as well as DVD sales in Japan and in the United States.

I wonder why neither ANN nor Anime on DVD's con reports mention that statement? |

I was sort of wondering the same thing... What is the source of this information, Colonel Wolfe? |

Would you please pm it to me. I'd love to get more into AMG since it was such a good anime. |

I can tell it's Toon Zone's writeup. But even in AoD's forum, Justin (the con reporter) said MB stated they were "looking into" licensing Season 2, not an actual announcement. At this juncture, I'd call it inevitable, but premature. |

No, you didn't. And you won't hear anything until after the 2nd series is over. |
