But if there was any year to surpass it, it would be 2011. Why? Because

Are you prepared for the usual, "Worst. Year. Ever." types to come out of the woodwork?

Oh, definitely a great year. But if you're going to count Gintama, you should as well count One Piece's upgrade (what made the manga sales multiply is now being animated), Bleach's magnificent bastard going down (which is nothing unpredictable, but lasted almost a decade), and Naruto finally getting close to the core of the emo crap (unless they come up with another year of fillers, which wouldn't surprise me).
Isn't Bakuman and Nura's second season also scheduled for 2011? Saint Seiya Lost Canvas 2, as well.
Oh, yeah, hentai is also by far better now than it was back in 2007 (less tentacle and demon rape, more incest).

2011 is starting off great, I'm enjoying a lot of the Winter season's animes.
You might also want to add Makoto Shinkai's new work that's coming out in Spring, "Children Who Chase Lost Voices From Deep Below". I might have gotten the title wrong though.

I always find it hilarious when they declare this after only 1 or 2 shows have premiered .
Yeah, 2011 is off to a very good start for anime so far. I think there's only about 3-4 shows I'm not continuing from this season, as opposed to last season when I was only following about 3-5 shows. Plus, there's a lot I'm looking forward to; like Squid Girl 2, and of course the new Last Exile project.

It seems a bit like cheating to me to count both what comes out in R1 and what comes out in Japan. Those are really two entirely separate questions. Plus, I personally don't care about virtually all the sequels you've listed.
Of course, that said, I do feel quite positive about 2011.
So far it seems like we're off to a passable start. People hardly seem as excited about Fractale or Wandering Son as I'd hoped but they don't seem to have been poorly received either.
There will be a new Berserk movie and that right there is enough to get me excited. Plus you've got Dream Machine, the new Okiura movie, Towa no Quon. Also some exciting stuff on TV, C, Deadman Wonderland, Fate/Zero, etc. Definitely not too shabby.

Didn't really think about it until you brought it up, but this is going to be the best year in a while. There are a fair amount of new shows that look interesting, good amount of old shows starting back up with new material, and the ongoing shows like Naruto and One Piece continuing to improve. I'm even more excited for this year now than I was before.

I'm quite excited about this year. One of my favorite manga series, Deadman Wonderland, is finally coming out as an anime show (and OMG Paku Romi is doing Ganta's voice!!! *squee*).
And its about damn time that they released the next Hellsing OVA. Very excited about seeing it.
It is sad that Satoshi Kon's new upcoming movie is his final movie, but I still can't wait to see it.
Yup, so far it sounds like a pretty good year for Anime.

Well, at least 16 of those seem like they are good choices at least, the rest I couldn't care less about. On the other hand that's about what we get in a normal, non-super-awesome, year anyway though. I'll just wait and see. Also missing are the new Appleseed television series and the Ah! My Goddess OVA.

I have allot of hope for 2011, but is it 2007 material? Well I'm going to hold off my full judgment on that, but right now I'd say it's not quite there yet. There's allot of great things that are sure to come from this year and it's going to be allot of fun to watch it all, but we have to keep in mind that there's always the sad chance that everything will go to s**t. But I am so far comfortable with saying that this year is already turning out better than last year. 2010 was really boring with very few notable anime, but 2011 is so far promising us allot more meat in our anime (and by meat I mean substance not literal meat).

Yeah. There is plenty of good stuff coming out. The start of this year is rather lackluster, but the high profile announcements should offer something to look forward to for most people. I just wish that there would be some good mecha shows in addition to Gundam Unicorn to fill the shortage. Appleseed is fine and all, but I'm looking for something more traditional.

Some of those sequels I don't really care about either. I just posted them because somebody probably wants it

Hmm, I'm not sure if it'll be comparable to 2007, but it will definitely be a good year. The winter season has a few gems but most of it has been rather bland so far (in my opinion) but the Spring season and what lies beyond is much more enticing.

Well, let's see. There are five notable shows for me at the moment. Bearing in mind that none of them have finished yet, if I had to rate them right now:
Masterpiece:
Puella Magica Madoka Magi,
Either Masterpiece or Excellent:
Wandering Son
Excellent:
Bakuman.
Either Excellent or Very Good:
Level E
Very Good:
Letter Bee: Reverse
And yes, I do realise that Bakuman. and Letter Bee: Reverse are continuations.
That's just in one season. I'm not going to go out and say that 2011 is an annus mirabilis, but this is one heck of a good start. I mean, I have only eleven titles in myANN that I've rated Masterpiece, and already this year there are two serious Masterpiece candidates. If the other three seasons only give me one Very Good title each then the year is still going to be a decent one.
And who knows? There may just be more incredible titles lurking in the shadows this year alone. Certainly I'm looking forward to several of the titles that garfield15 listed. I do remember that there were a half-dozen (maybe even ten or so) titles in the Northern Spring season alone that looked good.

Can't quite tell so far, the most interesting shows I would point coming out have been Zombie Desu ka, and if done right Madoka, level E and Merry.
Well I am partially looking at KyoAni which in 2007 showcased Kanon, Lucky Star and Clannad. This year they have the K-ON! movie which probably get lots of sales, but will it actually be good, and they have Nichijou which has hope for it.
A lot of the others I can not say much right now with SHAFT we have the prequel to highly acclaimed Bakemonogatari, and perhaps they have worked out te bugs of Maria Holic. J.C.Staff have possibly Shana, Toradora OVA and hopefully the Hayate movie.
