Hikaru Utada's 'Electricity' (Karen Nyama KG Remix) Drops February 15th With a Special DJ Event at Osaka's Expo '70 Pavilion

TOKYO, JAPAN — Featured on the 2024 best-of album SCIENCE FICTION, Hikaru Utada's latest track "Electricity" has quickly become a standout of their recent work. The music video for the aforementioned song, released in December, has already garnered over 1.6 million views.

Now, a remix of "Electricity" by London-based producer Karen Nyame KG is set to drop on February 15th. To mark the occasion, a special DJ event will take place on February 14th at Osaka's Expo '70 Commemorative Park, the night before the release.

The event will include performances by Karen Nyame KG, DJ YANATAKE and DJ POIPOI. Fans will also get an exclusive first listen to the remix, "Electricity (Karen Nyame KG Remix)," during this gathering.

In conjunction with the upcoming release of the "Electricity" (Karen Nyame KG Remix), a special installation of "NINE STORIES" will be unveiled, a project that gained significant attention during last year's nationwide SCIENCE FICTION TOUR through posts on Hikaru Utada's staff social media accounts. This installation serves as a prelude to the release of the "NINE STORIES" photobook, which captures the essence of the nationwide tour through the eyes of nine talented photographers.

The installation will be held at the Expo '70 Pavilion in the Expo Commemorative Park from 14th to 24th in February. Attendees will have the opportunity to experience a curated selection of photographs featured in the upcoming photobook, with some images being shown for the first time and special attendance gift of Takoyaki Kuma-chan Sticker.
