Zeta Gundam is easily my favorite Gundam anime of all time, and also my favorite mecha anime of all time.
It can be a little awkward at times, and your mileage may vary as far as the ending, but it's excellent.
I hope a lot of people take advantage of this streaming. I won't be surprised if they don't, since it's such an old show, but I'm still hoping.

Oh yeah people, enjoy one of the greatest Gundam sagas ever done with full on Tomino greatness and loads of mech action and intrigue.

I'm not looking forward to Seed Destiny. Most overrated show ever.

How the hell is Gundam Seed Destiny overrated?
The thing is universally despised in the west. Have you ever heard anyone say anything good about the series?

Well it's overrated in Japan.

The good: A less region locked stream than usual.
The bad: Picture quality is as terrible as usual.

Actually we boosted everyone to HQ mode for this one. But the old grainy stuff is always really hard to compress for streaming. (shrug)

You could do a degrain filter prior to compressing. That's pretty much the only way to get something like this looking decent at streaming bitrates.

Personally I felt that it looked fine, especially considering the age of the series. I mean if I cared so much about how the animation looked than I wouldn't be watching Zeta Gundam or MSG at all.

I did. That's why it looks OK; it'd look a heck of a lot worse if I didn't.

If the grain is a natural part of the footage, then there really is nothing to complain about. You just have to put up with it. However, if the footage can be cleaned up without destroying the film's natural grain, then I can understand the complaints.
Still stupid that we can't have 0079 subtitled though...

Not to me. Sure it's not as good as it's prequel, but it's still a very good series. It's a hell of a lot better than it's live action movie G Saviour as well as SD Gundam. Though were bad and the one that was overatted was G Gundam. Sure it was a decent series when it showed on Toonami, but its medicocore at best.
Either way i like zeta cause in this one Char wasn't a lunatic unlike in the movie, and the main is a definate anti amuro which was a plus. Hope it's dub version comes out. they should re-release it on DVD but time they should get the rights to the OP and ED
BUT what they should really do is get double zeta dubbed cause for harcdore dubbers like myself, it dont make sense that zeta has one but it's sequel doesn't. Now that i'll be definately looking forward too. Also if they manage to get Gundam X and Turn A Gundam, that too will be a treat.

ZZ is... not good. If Bandai didn't turn a profit by dubbing Zeta (and I'm not saying that they did not, I have no clue), they won't even bother releasing ZZ let alone dub it. It's considered the weakest part of UC by pretty much any UC Gundam fan.

I'm really glad this has been put up, I think the picture looks pretty good when you consider the circumstances.
Just curious though, why's the opening a different more generic instrumental track? I'm guessing it's a licensing issue.
I kinda liked that original opening: "everyone's a noble mind". What?!
Edit: Oops, just read about it on the news discussion.
