The problem is that you've only seen the first two episodes. While he has some immediate impact, his is a case where the effect he has, and the symbolism he represents, gradually grows as the series progresses and viewers realize that he is more a defining character than just another recurring gag. spoiler[His death in ep 4] is the moment which makes viewers realize that this isn't just a pure parody series, and it is quite a jolt to the system since it is such a contrast to what has come before. Anyway, with just a couple of hours left we have five matches split by only two votes. A couple of last-minute votes, or even a single last-minute vote change, could still have a big impact. |

My votes are also coming much later than I wanted them to, but better late than never!
Group D-1 Kuu, Haibane Renmei vs. Pero, Metropolis Voting for: Kuu I felt that Kuu left a large and very distinct impact on Haibane Renmei, and she was by far my favorite character. Group D-2 Autor, Princess Tutu vs. Walter C. Dornez, Hellsing franchise Voting for: Walter C. Dornez Walter may not be deep, but Hellsing for me at least relied more heavily on style than depth, and Walter contributed more to this style than any of the other members of the supporting cast. Group D-3 Osono, Kiki’s Delivery Service vs. Minoru Kokubunji, Chobits Voting for: Osono Group D-4 Jiriya, Naruto franchise vs. Kikyo, Inuyasha Voting for: Jiriya Group D-5 Meme Oshino, Bakemonogatari vs. Shuuei Ran, The Story of Saiunkoku Voting for: Meme Group D-6 Tanda, Moribito – Guardian of the Spirit vs. Peter Spikes, Starship Operators Voting for: Peter Spikes Group D-7 Euphemia li Brittania, Code Geass vs. Mrs. Ichinose, Maison Ikkoku Voting for: Euphemia li Brittania Group D-8 Kaname Chidori, Koi Kaze vs. Patrick Colasour, Gundam 00 Voting for: Pat Group D-9 Kyoji Ida, Millenium Actress vs. Nagi, Time of Eve Voting for: Nagi Group D-10 Ami Kawashima, Toradora! vs. Norman Burg, The Big O Voting for: Norman Group D-11 Reira Serizawa, NANA vs. Osamu Akaishi, Cross Game Voting for: Osamu Group D-12 Pedro, Excel Saga vs. The Colonel, Akira Voting for: Pedro Excel Saga is about laughs and Pedro made me laugh more than even most of the main cast. Mission accomplished. Group D-13 Akio Furukawa, Clannad franchise vs. Mr. Yotsuya, Maison Ikkoku Voting for: Akio Furukawa Akio may be a sleeper hit in this tournament since he is likable enough, and plays his role well. Group D-14 Miwako Sakurada, Paradise Kiss vs. Seitaro Sakaki, Patlabor franchise Voting for: Seitaro Sakaki Group D-15 Gai Daigoji/Jiro Yamada, Martian Successor Nadesico vs. Yasushi “Yasu” Takagi, NANA Voting for: Gai Daigoji/Jiro Yamada Oh noes, another first round match up between two characters that could easily go three or four rounds at the very least. I know both characters, and I feel that I must vote for Gai based on his overwhelming presence, impact, and the fact that he's one of the best executed parody characters that I have ever seen. While I understand why people compare Gai to Kamina, Gai is a much stronger character with much more depth, and far fewer weaknesses. Both characters serve as an inspirational force, but I feel that Gai's impact and presence permeates much deeper and is much more persuasive than even Kamina's fairly strong inspirational figure role. As others have said, Gai is on the screen for so little yet his impact is so immense. Sadly, Yasu doesn't even come to that, but against anyone else in this group I would vote for Yasu in a heartbeat. Both characters are amazing, but Gai is even more worthy, and I would be disappointed if the didn't go far in this tournament. I just hope he doesn't falter since he is from an older and lesser known series because as far as good supporting character go others could learn from looking to this character as the gold standard.
Well said, Key. I think it would be hard to see how powerful of a supporting character Gai is without seeing the entire series. Strangely enough, much of his strength and influence come after his spoiler[ death, which is fairly early on the series, ], which is again why I think characters like Gai and Wakaba are so powerful. Without their presence, the series wouldn't be the same since they continue to shape their respective series even long after they are gone. Both of these characters should not be underestimated. While Yasu is not a weak supporting character, it's a shame if he would win against such a heavy hitter like Gai. Group D-16 Minoru Shiraishi, Lucky Star vs. Wizardmon, Digimon franchise Voting for: Minoru Pretty much the same reason why I voted for Pedro. Wizardmon isn't bad either, but his character smells faintly of cheese if you know what I mean. Last edited by farichada on Mon May 17, 2010 10:10 pm; edited 5 times in total |

Group D-1
Kuu, Haibane Renmei vs. Pero, Metropolis Kuu Group D-2 Autor, Princess Tutu vs. Walter C. Dornez, Hellsing franchise Walter Group D-3 Osono, Kiki’s Delivery Service vs. Minoru Kokubunji, Chobits Osono Group D-4 Jiriya, Naruto franchise vs. Kikyo, Inuyasha Jiriya Group D-5 Meme Oshino, Bakemonogatari vs. Shuuei Ran, The Story of Saiunkoku Shuuei Ran Group D-6 Tanda, Moribito – Guardian of the Spirit vs. Peter Spikes, Starship Operators Tanda Group D-7 Euphemia li Brittania, Code Geass vs. Mrs. Ichinose, Maison Ikkoku Euphemia li Brittania Group D-8 Kaname Chidori, Koi Kaze vs. Patrick Colasour, Gundam 00 Kaname Chidori When I first watched Koi Kaze, Kaname Chidori stood out to me more than any other character in any previous anime I had seen. She portrays such a realistic level of concern for Koshiro that it's hard not to believe that she has the most noble of intentions. She shows understanding when she needs to, and she can be harsh when she needs to. Without Kaname, Koshiro would never begin to gain a total understanding of his feelings and the situation he had put himself in. Group D-9 Kyoji Ida, Millenium Actress vs. Nagi, Time of Eve Kyoji Ida Group D-10 Ami Kawashima, Toradora! vs. Norman Burg, The Big O Norman Burg Group D-11 Reira Serizawa, NANA vs. Osamu Akaishi, Cross Game Reira Serizawa Group D-12 Pedro, Excel Saga vs. The Colonel, Akira The Colonel Group D-13 Akio Furukawa, Clannad franchise vs. Mr. Yotsuya, Maison Ikkoku Akio Furukawa Group D-14 Miwako Sakurada, Paradise Kiss vs. Seitaro Sakaki, Patlabor franchise Miwako Sakurada Group D-15 Gai Daigoji/Jiro Yamada, Martian Successor Nadesico vs. Yasushi “Yasu” Takagi, NANA Yasushi “Yasu” Takagi Group D-16 Minoru Shiraishi, Lucky Star vs. Wizardmon, Digimon franchise Minoru Shiraishi |

Based on the various arguments, I did a last-minute change on D-3 from Minoru to Osono in my original Round 1 Group D voting post.

That part, I researched on the guy. The problem is Gai doesn't rub me the right way and I don't get the appeal of the character considering the type of series Nadesico at trying to mix together parody and a serious plot (which had led me to drop the series afterward). I'm blowing a gasket now that a potential top competitor from Nana is gonna get ousted early again from a representative off a mecha anime. Don't have time for explanations for them all so I'll just list them for a few this round.
Group D-1 Kuu, Haibane Renmei Reason: Both characters are quality characters in their own right. Both are very good supporting characters as well. I think both should move on and are evenly matched. So that being said I'll have to go with personal preference on this one and go with Kuu. Group D-2 Walter C. Dornez, Hellsing franchise Reason: I don't think Autor is much of a supporting character to begin with. I just don't think Autor had near the impact as Walter. I mean Walter is a key part to the success of the main characters. They rely on him for his expertise and support. They respect him, even Alucard which isa saying something, and his skills play integral parts within the story. To me he is the epitome of a supporting character who's presence is needed for the story to progress properly. Easy choice for me. Group D-3 Minoru Kokubunji, Chobits Group D-4 Jiriya, Naruto franchise Reason: Kikyo is a piss poor supporting character IMO. Beyond the very beginning of the story what does she do? Nothing. She gets in the way but does barely anything to actually support the characters or the plot. She may be in the show more then Jiriya is in Naruto but that doesn't matter. Actually importance does to me. Kikyo just does little to nothing to support the main characters and the plot. She's more or less just there. Where as Jiriya is a key supporting character. His presence explains past events and is critical for future ones. He actually supports the characters and the plot and isn't just there to be there. His importance is continuous and to me this is an easy choice. And for the record I don't even like Naruto that much so don't try any "he's just a narutard comments." Group D-5 Shuuei Ran, The Story of Saiunkoku Group D-6 Tanda, Moribito – Guardian of the Spirit Reason: As Key said what Tanda does in Moribito is the embodiment of being a supporting character. He's always there to help without question and his presence moves the story along. Without him the show....would not be a show. I would to see a Tanda vs Walter match up. That would be something. Group D-7 Mrs. Ichinose, Maison Ikkoku Group D-8 Kaname Chidori, Koi Kaze Group D-9 Kyoji Ida, Millenium Actress Group D-10 Ami Kawashima, Toradora! Group D-11 Osamu Akaishi, Cross Game Group D-12 Pedro, Excel Saga Reason: Ok now while Pedro while on the surface may not be the better of the two if you look at them both and the typer of shows they are in he is the stronger character. Yes the colonel has a more direct role and specific purpose but what does he do that really moves the story along? How does he really help the main characters? Not so much really. Now Pedro comes from a zany, off the wall, crazy comedy. His role in this comedy pushes one of the many plots along. I think if you take them in the context of their shows and what they do to assist the actual plot and characters Pedro is actually the stronger one here. Don't see him going too far but he should win this round. Group D-13 Akio Furukawa, Clannad franchise Group D-14 Seitaro Sakaki, Patlabor franchise Group D-15 Gai Daigoji/Jiro Yamada, Martian Successor Nadesico Group D-16 Minoru Shiraishi, Lucky Star |

It's funny that you mention that because when I was watching Nadesico, I was also tempted to drop it after the first few episodes. However, after I finished the series I was glad that I didn't the series really came full circle with some of the themes, concepts, and parodies presented in the early episodes with the influence of Gai actually making it all possible. At first, I thought he was just an okay parody character, but when the series when full circle and used Gai in a meaningful way even long after his spoiler[ exit in the 4th episode], Gai quickly became one of the strongest as well one of personal favorite supporting characters. His character also cleverly highlights how the principles of a stereotypical hero are fairly ridiculous if you think about it. Give the series another shot, and if you finish it you will realize why Gai has long-term potential in this tournament. Gai's character is Kamina's character done right with an extra dimension of parody thrown in. While the mini-game may say otherwise Gai winning really isn't as much of an upset as you might think. |

Round 1 Group D is now closed.
We had a few that went down to the wire, including one (for the second straight Group) decided by a near-last-minute vote change. Final results: D-1: Kuu slams Pero 24-3 in the group's most lopsided win. D-2: Walter C. Dornez def. Autor 17-10 in a match that was tight until the final few votes. D-3: Osono edges Minoru Kokunbunji 14-13. D-4: Jiriya outlasts Kikyo 15-12 in a fiercely-fought battle. D-5: Meme Oshino narrowly beats Shuuei Ran in another tight one. D-6: Tanda def. Peter Spikes 21-6. D-7: Euphemia li Britannia handily beats Mrs. Ichinose 22-5. D-8: Kaname Chidori def. Patrick Colasour 20-7. D-9: Nagi eliminates Kyoji Ida 18-9 in an upset. (Or is it?) D-10: Ami def. Norman Burg 20-7. D-11: Osamu Akaishi throws Reira out at second, 19-8. D-12: Pedo def. The Colonel 18-9. D-13: Akio Furukawa overwhelms Mr. Yotsuya 23-4. D-14: Miwako endures Seitaro Sakaki's late push, 14-13. D-15: Gai Daigoji wins the most hotly-contested match over Ysu, 15-12. D-16: Wizardmon def. Minoru Shiraishi 15-12. So the voting was up from last round and six matches were decided by three votes or less, including some that were back-and-forth the whole week. Not bad! By the numbers, Kyoji Ida is the biggest upset to date; he had an 8-3 edge over Nagi in the nominations phase, yet lost by a 2-1 margin here. (I never saw him as a serious contender, though, so this isn't a surprise to me.) No one else with a nomination score of more than 6 failed to advance. And concerning Ggultra2764's last comments: it isn't like Yasu went down to a chump or simply lost to someone more popular; NANA is a widely-respected series in these forums, after all, and MSN hasn't been in broad circulation in years. Gai wasn't tied for the seventh-highest score in the nominations phase for nothing, though, and it isn't like mecha series (even parody ones) can't have top-rate supporting characters. Anyway, next round should be up very shortly. |

Round 2 Group A is now closed.
Results can be found here. As with the second half of last round, significant arguments must be made about at least one match. If you don't know both characters in any of the matches, then just pick a match where you feel passionate about a particular character winning and explain why. Also, if anyone wants to improve a Guide entry for one of the survivors, be sure to do that soon and PM it to me. Anyway, last round this Group has the fewest number of close matches, with only two being decided by less than six votes and none really in doubt in the final few hours. Now that the weakest/least fortunate contenders are gone, perhaps we'll see a result this time more like the later Groups of the first round? A-24 in particular looks like it might be interesting. Group A-17 Maes Hughes, Fullmetal Alchemist franchise vs. Eri Ninamori, FLCL Group A-18 Haruka Tenoh/Sailor Uranus, Sailor Moon vs. Toki, Princess Mononoke Group A-19 Nabuca, Now and Then, Here and There vs. Kazuko Yoshiyama, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time Group A-20 Genkai, Yu Yu Hakusho vs. Nana, Elfen Lied Group A-21 Lt. Yamamoto The Irresponsible Captain Tylor vs. Christopher Armalite, Scrapped Princess Group A-22 Kimura, Azumanga Daioh vs. Edel, Princess Tutu Group A-23 Alex Rowe, Last Exile vs. Renge Hoshakuji, Ouran High School Host Club Group A-24 Ushio Okazaki, Clannad After Story vs. Nabeshin, Excel Saga, et al. Group A-17
Maes Hughes, Fullmetal Alchemist franchise vs. Eri Ninamori, FLCL Eri's a neat supporting cast member, but she doesn't have the presence, impact, or raw character of Maes Hughes. I'll be surprised if this isn't a big blow-out. Group A-18 Haruka Tenoh/Sailor Uranus, Sailor Moon vs. Toki, Princess Mononoke This one will likely be more competitive, but I just don't see Toki as a strong enough supporting character to last very long. Still giving Sailor Uranus the benefit of the doubt here. Group A-19 Nabuca, Now and Then, Here and There vs. Kazuko Yoshiyama, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time Is Nabuca really a lead character? I still disagree, as his role is one of the most important in the series for moving things along, and characterizing the setting's inherent emotional conflict, rather than being at the forefront of the action. He's also makes much more of an impression than Kazuko does. Group A-20 Genkai, Yu Yu Hakusho vs. Nana, Elfen Lied Genkai may have played a significant role in her series, but Nana had vastly more impact and represents the critical notion that Diclonius aren't inherently evil. That's plenty enough to keep her moving on here. Group A-21 Lt. Yamamoto The Irresponsible Captain Tylor vs. Christopher Armalite, Scrapped Princess For me, there's no question: as entertaining as Lt. Yamamoto may have been, Chris was a more important character with a bigger presence. He is arguably the most analytical and even-headed human character in a series where emotions tend to rule. Group A-22 Kimura, Azumanga Daioh vs. Edel, Princess Tutu This is the one I had to think about. Is this the round that Kimura goes down? Possibly, as Edel is a much tougher foe than his last opponent. This one could be close, and I'm not entirely sure I'm picking right here, but I see Edel as a little too much of a plot device, as opposed to a character, to give her another win. Group A-23 Alex Rowe, Last Exile vs. Renge Hoshakuji, Ouran High School Host Club Another tough one which could be close. Both add a lot to their respective series, but while Alex Rowe has the more prominent plot-impacting role, he's more replaceable than Renge is. Put simply, Ouran needs a character like Renge more than Last Exile needs a character specifically like Alex Rowe. Group A-24 Ushio Okazaki, Clannad After Story vs. Nabeshin, Excel Saga, et al. Now this one will truly be tough. The voting will, I suspect, mostly come down to whether you weight emotional impact or comedic value more heavily. With some kind of deciding factor needed, I will pull out one argument I kinda hesitate to use but feel needs to be made: for all that Ushio adds to the series, her role is ultimately overplayed. Yes, she is a heart-stealer and has one of the most intensely emotional moments ever put into an anime, but after that Key pushes too hard to make her even more sorrowfully sympathetic, and frankly, I found that annoying. Nabeshin, OTOH, chugs along merrily throughout, adding even more color to a series which has no shortage of it. He may not peak as high as Ushio, but is more consistent in his impact. |

Moving on from my Gai/Yasu meltdown (which is gonna hurt my mini-game the next few rounds for Bracket D)...
Match A-17: Maes Hughes (Full Metal Alchemist) Hate to see Ninamori go, but the impact of Hughes' spoiler[demise] really shakes up the resolve of the major characters in both continuities of FMA (haven't seen Brotherhood yet, but if it's following the manga closely, then the impact should be present in it). Match A-18: Haruka Tenoh (Sailor Moon) Match A-19: Nabuca (Now and Then, Here and There) Match A-20: Genkai (Yu Yu Hakusho) A close call considering the lack of the presence of both these characters would impact things with the mood or characters in their respective titles. But I have to give this up to Genkai for the round. Without her, Yusuke's skills as a Spirit Detective wouldn't have gone up without Genkai's training and she has enough of a role during the Dark Tournament in helping Yusuke's team out. Match A-21: Lt. Yamamoto (Irresponsible Captain Tylor) Match A-22: Edel (Princess Tutu) Hate to see Kimura go as well, but Duck would have been lost in her quest to gather the pieces of Mythos' heart without the cryptic hints that the puppet provided her. Match A-23: Renge Hoshakuji (Ouran Host Club) Alex's major problem is that while he has presence as the captain of the Silvana, he doesn't really do much in the way of action except during a few major developments in Last Exile's plot. Renge, on the other hand, makes frequent appearances as comic relief throughout her show that steal the spotlight from the Host Club members. Match A-24: Nabeshin (Excel Saga) And this is where I vote off Ushio. As me and Aylinn had chatted about in the last round, Ushio's big scene and the presence she has in another way throughout Clannad is one big Willing Suspension of Disbelief (spoiler[Ushio isn't born until later in After Story yet Tomoya dreams of her and she is present throughout the series for the franchise's later deus ex machina.]) that felt emotionally manipulative and was deja vu to Air's TV adaptation. |

Maes Hughes, Fullmetal Alchemist franchise vs. Eri Ninamori, FLCL Key summed it up well. With all of his presence, impact, and raw character I'll be shocked if Maes doesn't win by a landslide. Group A-18 Haruka Tenoh/Sailor Uranus, Sailor Moon vs. Toki, Princess Mononoke Toki Don't feel strongly either way. Group A-19 Nabuca, Now and Then, Here and There vs. Kazuko Yoshiyama, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time Is Nabuca a main character? I think at best he is a borderline borderline main, and quite frankly Kazuko is memorable enough to be competitive. I also am of the mindset that characters who are even a hint of main characterish should be weeded out since in terms of importance and relevance they have a severe unfair advantage against true supporting characters. Group A-20 Genkai, Yu Yu Hakusho vs. Nana, Elfen Lied I think I may end up in the minority, but Nana really irked me as a character, and she seemed more like a symbol and a message than a fleshed out character. Genkai also plays an important role, and this match at least shouldn't be too one sided. Group A-21 Lt. Yamamoto The Irresponsible Captain Tylor vs. Christopher Armalite, Scrapped Princess Anyone who argues that Lt. Yamamoto isn't important or compares unfavorably in the presence department hasn't seen the series. Yamamoto shapes the crew, and his role extends far beyond just being a comedic foil for the main character. His presence helps the crew work together more effectively, which happens to be one of the larger themes of the series. His changing views of the main character also has a dramatic impact on the attitudes of the entire crew. His character is very memorable, and he has enough presence to compare favorably to even stronger characters like Chris due to his development, importance, and effectiveness as a comic relief character. Anyone who is unfamiliar with Yamamoto's character should read his guide entry, which represents some of his strengths very nicely. Lt. Yamamoto is a strong contender, and he has already proven himself against one strong character, Tetsu, and I wouldn't be surprised if he edged out another stronger character like Chris, despite the fact that far fewer people have seen Irresponsible Captain Tylor. Lt. Yamamoto is just that worthy as a supporting character, and if he is able to overcome the fact that he's from an obscure, older series, he should go far. Group A-22 Kimura, Azumanga Daioh vs. Edel, Princess Tutu I agree with Key. Kimura deserves to win against against a character that's little too much like a plot device. He has too much attention grabbing ability even if you personally find his humor to be a little hard to swallow. Group A-23 Alex Rowe, Last Exile vs. Renge Hoshakuji, Ouran High School Host Club Seen both and I personally find Renge to be extremely annoying, one-dimensional, and fairly repetitive as a character. Alex Rowe on the other hand plays a pivotal role, and has a very distinct presence. Group A-24 Ushio Okazaki, Clannad After Story vs. Nabeshin, Excel Saga, et al. I know both characters, and this is a tough one to decide on since both characters are very different. I am siding with Ushio since her presence defines the show as soon as she appears, and it never wavers, She is also arguably responsible for the plot twist a the end of the series. It is also hard to deny Ushio when she is so memorable due to her ability to evoke emotion, though I admit it is a bit overdone at times. Mini-game results spreadsheet.
There was a little bit of a shake-up in the middle of the mini-game rankings. Egoist jumped 7 places with the best score this round (14), while another participant dropped 8 places after scoring only 6 points. Olliff, Key, and Mow continue to hold 1-2-3, with only a three-point difference between first and third. And there are another three people one point behind Mow. Overall, the mini-game was exactly as accurate this week as it was last week, which puts the overall accuracy for Round 1... I'm going to say right at average. Technically it's the 2nd lowest of the 5 tournaments I have data for, but I think the accuracy for the Hero and Cleverest tournaments were artificially high, as the other three are within a two-percent spread. A lot of the predictions were very evenly split, which was generally an accurate predictor of how close the matches were. The exception to that were Autor vs Walter and Pedro vs the Colonel, which weren't quite as close as the mini-game had implied they would be. Wizardmon's victory of Minoru Shiraishi of Lucky Star was the only solid upset, as the mini-game and nominations rather implied the latter as the favorite, which makes Wizardmon something of a dark horse, although I don't expect he'll be able to take Gai next round, as Gai's match with Yasu was close because both were strong competitors. Technically, Osono and Jiraiya's wins were both upsets based on mini-game winner predictions, but the difference there was smaller than several of the matches were the winner was accurately predicted. Meme Oshino and Miwako Sakurada were both expected to win about 3:1, yet both only just managed to hold on by a single vote.
You're not the only one there. A few people are going to be hurting next round from Kikyo's loss as well. |

Maes Hughes, Fullmetal Alchemist franchise vs. Eri Ninamori, FLCL Maes Hughes Group A-18 Haruka Tenoh/Sailor Uranus, Sailor Moon vs. Toki, Princess Mononoke Haruka Tenoh/Sailor Uranus Group A-19 Nabuca, Now and Then, Here and There vs. Kazuko Yoshiyama, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time Nabuca Group A-20 Genkai, Yu Yu Hakusho vs. Nana, Elfen Lied Genkai Group A-21 Lt. Yamamoto The Irresponsible Captain Tylor vs. Christopher Armalite, Scrapped Princess Lt. Yamamoto Group A-22 Kimura, Azumanga Daioh vs. Edel, Princess Tutu Edel Group A-23 Alex Rowe, Last Exile vs. Renge Hoshakuji, Ouran High School Host Club Alex Rowe is important for the plot in Last Exile and the most memorable characters in this anime despite not being given a lot of screen time. Group A-24 Ushio Okazaki, Clannad After Story vs. Nabeshin, Excel Saga, et al. Everything I learnt about Ushio in the previous round is unimpressive. She does nothing that seems remotely interesting in her series and what she does is a cop-out to spoiler[make a happy ending.] whereas Nabeshin seems to be a solid comic relief that deserves to advance. Group A-17
Maes Hughes, Fullmetal Alchemist franchise vs. Eri Ninamori, FLCL Voting for Maes Hughes I thaught he was a positive force throught his time in the series. He is fairly funny quite likeable and helps the plot along alot. This is however quite a close round for me as Eri played her part very well in FLCL. Stiring up and confusing the main char no end. However ultimately it all kinda blurs together in the end. Maybe that's just FLCL being itself but meh I would rather go for a more traditional supporting character. Group A-18 Haruka Tenoh/Sailor Uranus, Sailor Moon vs. Toki, Princess Mononoke Voting for Toki I thaught she was a jovial and generally tone lightening addition in what is a cast full of serious business people. In the good way of course. On the other hand I hate sailor moon and everything it stands for. My choice was easy. Group A-19 Nabuca, Now and Then, Here and There vs. Kazuko Yoshiyama, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time Voting for Kazuko Yoshiyama Group A-20 Genkai, Yu Yu Hakusho vs. Nana, Elfen Lied Voting for Nana Group A-21 Lt. Yamamoto The Irresponsible Captain Tylor vs. Christopher Armalite, Scrapped Princess Voting for Lt. Yamamoto Group A-22 Kimura, Azumanga Daioh vs. Edel, Princess Tutu Voting for Kimura Group A-23 Alex Rowe, Last Exile vs. Renge Hoshakuji, Ouran High School Host Club Voting for Alex Rowe As although I thaught Renge was funny in OHSHC she was rather trotted out like a Deus Ex Machina whenever an explanation or a sudden inturruption was needed and never really contributed to the plot. spoiler[Whearas Alex came with the full package. Dead Girlfriend .. Shattered Dreams .. Traumatic Past .. Distant relation to the mc the works.] Group A-24 Ushio Okazaki, Clannad After Story vs. Nabeshin, Excel Saga, et al. Voting for Nabeshin Not really a competition really ushio is just another stamped out anime kid clone copy of her mother apparently. I mean seriously I would love to see one anime kid that has it's grandparents hair or something. Whearas Nabeshin keeps tha laughs coming through excel saga. |
