Probably one of the driving reasons why people tend to be attracted to the Death Note as a weapon is because it allows you to kill anonymously without having to get your hands dirty.

No die-hard anime/manga fan of Death Note would make a custom Death Note and use it as a 'hit list' because it just goes against the point of having a Death Note in the first place.

Am I saying it's impossible for someone to use a notebook labeled "Death Note" as a hit list? No, but why go through all that trouble dressing up as a Death Note if you wanted to make a hit list?

Anyway, once again, people fail to grasp the actual issue at hand. It isn't a matter of if the anime/manga is putting thoughts into kids heads, it's about this kid's reasoning for putting people's names on a list that would fictionally kill them. Banning the manga wont do jack. The kid just needs some counseling.

Nice to see school officials standing up for the rights of students; it's a high school. It's not like elementary kids are able to get their hands on Death Note, where there might be a chance of misinterpretation. And a nice point is brought up: kids do struggle with morality, especially during their high school years when their standings are truly being cemented. Light isn't even shown in a positive light; people like to associate more with L and can see what Light is doing isn't right, that he's playing God. And we all know what happens at the end...

I also think people need to focus more on the kids. People mimic fiction all the time, healthy or not. But if they are involved in unhealthy behaviors that they perceive as perfectly fine or natural, then adults and parents need to step in.

Anybody else lol when they saw a picture if Justin Bieber?

Man, I get yet another nickel! I've made a good few bucks here already!

Still, a book ban? Man, that'd make me want to go back to high school for a day just to read Death Note in the hallways. They'd probably kick me out for not being in high school anymore, and that'd cause its own problems (not that I couldn't still pass as one), but it'd be fun to see what happens?

So, wtf was up with Justin Beiber being on here? I suppose when he's not showing his freakishly large teeth (like on that one magazine thing that jsut stood out on the store shelves to me cus I couldn't help but look at it and go "my god does that kid have horse teeth"), he does look rather like Light, ironically enough. Or more, I can totally force myself to see that.

I'm almost tempted to say the Deathnote series should be banned for under 18 years old. There are obviously a lot of kids who are having trouble separating their fantasy from reality, and the fantasy of Deathnote is a bit dangerous.

But high school kids have to learn how to handle reality sometime. If they can't deal with reality (or at least learn discretion), their life will be its own punishment. No need to make the rest of Deathnote's underage fandom suffer.

Someone should sue these stupid schools for suspending and expelling Death Note students.

It's a hitlist. Ofcourse the writer should be suspended.

You're ok with a 15 year old dying for no good reason? You sure are mature.

A live-action death note movie staring Justin Beiber would be kind of fantastic.
