Really cool video guys! But it really does look kinda dead in there. But I guess I am comparing it to the larger American conventions here. Cant wait to see more!

Drat. I was hoping the Toei booth would have a mention of that new Rose of Versailles project they announced at Tokyo Animefair '07. The lack of info on the project, this many years past, is very disheartening.
Anime is severly lacking in quality shoujo lately, and them finally releasing that movie would shut me up for a nice long while. I still salivate over watching this poor quality clipof what they were planning. |

The Good Smile booth made me happy, especially the figma portion. I've already got all of the K-ON! figures preordered (of the ones that haven't been released yet) and it's nice to see painted protos of the new Haruhi figures. I think that Mickey Mouse Nendoroid is the first of a non Japanese character.
That Bleach poster is really for a new movie and not promoting the upcoming post-filler season? That monster on the poster is definitely from the manga and not something made to sell tickets. Emerje |

Pretty sure it will get livelier once the public are let in. |

I had a suspicion it was still press and pro's and not open to the public yet; too many well-dressed professional, non booth-babe women -do they even have booth babes at this event? ...And the rather noticeable lack of overweight otaku wearing backpacks and fanny packs. |

Sorry, I thought it said it in the article somewhere - I must have been thinking of Zac's photodiary. Jerome Mazandarani has posted a couple of booth babe photos: http://twitpic.com/1azowq http://twitpic.com/1azsd3 I'm not sure which day they are from (which day are we at now? What with the time zones and everything I'm really not sure) |

@ Gonzo:
I'm still pretty disgusted by the boob mouse pads. I mean, really. That's really pathetic. @Dentsu I thought Heroman was being done by Bones. @Sunrise Wooh, the theme song for 08th MS Team was playing! Love the big Gundam 00 and Unicorn, too. @TMS I wish I could go on a Lupin III park ride. @GOOD SMILE Those are some nice looking figures. @Toei Aw, I want to have my picture doing the Fusion-Ha dance with Goku! @SHOPRO Thirty?! That's a lot of Doreamon movies. |

It wasn't a complaint on my part, just an observation at their absence. I didn't know what the SOP was for such an event. I'd assumed, it being Japan, that Booth Babes were the norm, hence my curiosity. Again, there "absence" from photo tour wasn't a complaint. That aside... "HELLO, NURSE!" ;3
I agree. Yet... my wrist is *strangely* attracted to them. Go figure. |

We've got 5 or 6 booths left to do; the biggest one is Aniplex, but to be honest the show was pretty small this year.
Animation production is being handled by Bones. It's produced by Dentsu. You can also find Heroman promotional stuff at like TV Tokyo's booth and a few others. Hell, that Detective Conan movie is at like a dozen booths thanks to the sheer number of companies involved in it. |

I'm actually surprised Gonzo is still around. Weren't they in massive debt or something? Probably explains the smaller booth and the dearth of real news from them (barring this new announcement of course).

Holy crap! I hope they didn't drop the project. I'd love to see a re-make of the series. It would definitely increase the chances of seeing Rose of Versailles in the states. Nice videos, I only wish they were longer. I'd love to take my picture with Luffy and Goku. |

ahhh!!! Production I.G.'s Kimi ni Todoke!! *?*
it's finished airing? huh i didn't know the last ep was out yet D: Rainbow looks awesome. one of the Spring shows I'm anticipating ^^. - Poor Gonzo.. I feel bad for those guys. Because as an anime studio they made a clear active effort to put out unique and original anime titles. I mean, a sci-fi adaptation of The Count of Monte Cristo? What other anime studio would do that? lol. Then titles like Last Exile, Speed Grapher and Bokurano? They contributed a handful of none-mainstream otaku pandering titles. And Welcome to the NHK is a personal favorite title of mine.. It just sucks that those unique titles bombed and they had to turn to such blatant fanservice.. But then, even in the fanservice they didn't mess around. They weren't halfhearted about it like Manglobe. No, they did full blown otaku-pandering titles. Overall, Gonzo is an awesome studio. So it sucks that they're dead v_v. - King of Thorn is gonna be so ballin D:. - Hipira-kun was alright.. I liked the cg and the texture of the animation.. But it was definitely a kids show, lol. SD Gundam Romance of the Three Kingdoms.. It's ridiculous the amount of shows based on that that are airing this spring.. There's like 4. - Bakuman looks interesting (but then, anything without girls and pantsu looks interesting these days xD). And Giant Killing is one sports title that I'm really interested in. - *sigh* Maid-sama and Mayoi Neko Overrun... there are so many good (well, interesting looking) titles airing this spring I'm glad I don't feel the need to watch those shows to feel like I'm watching something... |

So how does this 3D work for 2D cartoons? I'd imagine you'd just be able to see layers. Interesting to see things going 3D. Haven't seen anything like this yet (the offerings have been lackluster) but I look forward to checking it out eventually.
Any news on the Garo movie? Been waiting for more Garo. |
