Correct me if I'm wrong, but ADV didn't have anything to do with these releases, with the exception of dubbing The Second Raid for Funimation.

Does this mean that Junjo Romantica will still get released by Right Stuff?

So this just means that negotiations have to be done with the parent company in Japan, correct? This hopefully does not affect anything in progress...

No distribution partners had been announced for the remaining anime titles.

Yoo hoo, oh FUNimation! May want to take a look at grabbing Demonbane for me. Please! I know, it's not a stellar title by any means, but it's one I want. Badly. Call it appreciation for all the figures the series inspired.

Hey, maybe open a poll to see how many would buy it?

*sigh*

I guess I can dream.

Note to the article writer: the licensed link doesn't work.

Clearly what happened was that Kadokawa USA saw how much of an incoming nuke to business Endless Eight was going to be and jumped into the acid lest they get converted to radioactive vapour.

And, huh, I guess Mamrou-kun didn't get a release, huh. Might need to go back to that. That was great fun.

I imagine the stuff that's out is now in the legal holdings of the companies that did it (Read; Funimation and Bandai as ADV are gone in Name and let them fall by that Sword that saved them) and hence any attempt to get The second Raid into the UK shores will not be impeded any further-
Oh who am I kidding? It's going to be stuck in the middle of a VOD site that kills any Tea-sipper that attempts to log on.

What's gonna happen to the stuff that they've licensed now? I still need to finish buying up Haruhi Suzumiya and The Third: The Girl with the Blue Eye!

I second this notion. I wasn't even aware Kadokawa USA had the license. Now I'm sad. = (

They waited almost a month to let this out? The recession has caught up to them then. Out of all those titles I already have "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time". FMP, 2nd wave, and Spice & Wolf are the only two I was looking forward to. I'm guessing licences will still be done from Japan, but far fewer than before.

And let that be a lesson to you kiddies:

The animu you're trying to sell to Western shores; if the characters herein, regardless of gender, aren't able to kick each other's rear ends 100%, the company responsible for said animu crashes and burns.

Thank you and have a good day. Cool

Kadokawa Pictures USA's closure should not affect the release of Spice and Wolf, Junjo Romantica, the first Haruhi Suzumiya series, The Third: The Girl with the Blue Eye, and other titles that were negotiated already.

I'm amazed to learn that Canvas2 had an actual slight chance of release here in the US if any of the distributors had chosen to distribute the Kadakawa USA license.

They might have got the hump because the fansubbers stuck their middle fingers toward them.

I hope someone picks Chrome Shelled Regios. I loved that show and it was one of the series they could have been pitching to have licensed to other companies.
