I can't wait to see this. I really enjoyed the manga (well, the scanalation, rather)-- Inariya Fusanosuke's art is gorgeous, imo-- and was quite disappointed that the plans to have it published in English never materialized (I think it was licensed by DramaQueen, who seems to have ceased publishing anything, unfortunately).

Let's just hope DQ doesn't pull a BB and leave us wondering for a year and a half before their website simply disappears one day. I'd be a lot happier if they pulled a Broccoli and found new licensors to care for their catalogue before they kicked it (and really, aren't they just dead in the water at this point?). As for this anime, maybe we'll get to see it licensed by Kitty or someone. Better chance than hoping for a manga license/rescue, anyway.

Unfortunately, I'd honestly rather have the manga than the anime, all things considered. I find that most OVAs just don't quite do their mangas justice (for example, while I liked the Ikoku Irokoi Romantan OVAs, they're no substitute for the manga, in my opinion). It's really too bad about DramaQueen, though. They seemed to be picking up titles by manga-ka I especially liked (such as Yuzuha Ougi and Masara Minase). Maiden Rose was another one I was particularly looking forward to owning. Oh well, c'est la vie.

I am so hoping with CPM's bankruptcy we'll finally see Finder & Kizuna rescued. It's sad to see anyone go, but it does the reader nor the artists no good when the titles land in limbo. There are so many Drama Queen titles I wanted so bad, but I have no glimmer of hope we'll ever see them.

As for yaoi anime, most don't get a full series treatment, just the OVA to give fans the thrill of seeing the characters moving & speaking.

I heard a rumor that Kitty was looking into the license rescue of Finder (they're the folks who picked up Crimson Spell). I have no doubt in my mind that Finder will be picked up by someone, and in the not-too-distant future. Kizuna I'm not as confident will be rescued any time soon, unless Deux or someone (who've set a precedent for licensing early BL titles) has an eye for it. The economy isn't in a good place right now to be taking a chance on a title that had its day in the sun years ago. Maybe in five more years when money isn't so tight? But by then Kizuna will probably be out of serialization in Japan and the scanlations in English will be finished, and everyone will be "over" it. I'd personally love to see rescues of Kazuma Kodaka titles, most especially Kusatta. I'd really love to see that one, but it's ten volumes and there's no love scenes until, what, volume 8? Too slow for most short-attention-spanned younger BL readers nowadays. *sigh*

There does seem to be a move in BL anime towards longer stories, though. In the old days, you'd get maybe one or two thirty minute OVAs for a title, but now look at how Junjo Romantica has had a whole series (two seasons, even). The popularity and staying power of the genre are making it more profit-friendly for prospective anime productions.

I would kill for someone to pick up Finder. *glances at her avatar* I'd even re-buy the first 2 volumes out of sheer joy (besides, my old copies are starting to yellow along the edge of the pages). The scanalations are done and the story only gets better. Not to mention, it's one of those titles that it seems almost every yaoi fan has or wants, especially since the first (and only) 2 licensed volumes are OOP. It's like money in the bank. I would think Kizuna would be the same, since the people that followed it for what, 8 or 9 English volumes would probably really like to see how it finishes (I know I would). I'm not willing to re-buy all 8-9 volumes of that, though. Wink I'm not sure that scanalations of yaoi titles really negatively affect the manga sales as much-- it seems to me that many fans will still buy titles they've already read in scans once they're licensed.

Kusatta was licensed at one point!? I would love to own that one (even more than Kizuna). A few years ago, I ended up reading all 10 volumes worth of scanalations in the span of 2 days. At first I though the art was a little off (in earlier volumes) but her style really evolved so much over 10 volumes (not to mention I fell in love with the story).
