Who has captured your heart? Is it Momo Ayase from DANDADAN? What about Kana Sakuragi from Magilumiere Magical Girls Inc.? Who do you believe should be crowned the leading woman of 2024? Oran "Ontan" Nakagawa
From Dead Dead Demon's Dededede Destruction. I could just as easily nominated her partner in crime, Kadode Kayoma, since they are both marvelous creations but I gave the nod to Ontan because of the remarkable transformation in personality she had to undergo for Kadode. Can't tell you how much I loved this show. My absolute number 1 for 2024. |

If I had to make a choice between Kyouka and Momo, it’d definitely be MOMO AYASE from DAN DA DAN. Because from what I’ve seen thus far, she’s practically the answer as to what would happen if Carrie were a Bad-Ass heroine gal with Psychic abilities and spends her time battling alien and ghosts in her underwear all the time!
Man, I wish that Momo would fight all kinds of threats in her underwear though. That’s be really cool!  [/url][/b]

Somei Yoshino from Yakuza Fiancé
Yoshno is great because she’s not afraid to get her hands dirty. She’s clearly a young woman who grew up with confidence and poise but she got the guts of a genuine gangster to back it up. In addition she’s not interested in being someone’s play thing. She’s never unwilling to crack some skulls just the way her male counterparts do and demands that they take her seriously. A true modern day yakuza princess! |

There were a lot of fun female leads in 2024, but this is the one who most frequently had me laughing out loud with her antics. |

Rishe Irmgard Weltzner from 7th Time Loop
She was the most-impressing female anime character in 2024 for me. One one side she was dependable at first and when she got dumped by the prince (or whatsoever) she seemingly had nothing left until meeting a bunch of merchants. Even though, she went to her past for seven times (due to her dying in various ways) which did not make her lose her will. She is a strong-willed, independent woman who can fight back if she needs to. Yet, she has a caring personality for those she holds dear. |

Kumiko Omae from Sound! Euphonium 3
It was a joy to see Kumiko learn and grow over the course of this series, reaching a stage in her life when she was ready to take up the mantle of being a leader and a mentor in the most recent season. Episode 12 is one of my favorites of the year because of how deftly Kumiko navigates her both her obligations and her emotions when addressing a major plot development to wildly different audiences. |
