Honestly, I'm having a hard time with this. There wasn't really a reason given, but Sana sustained a back injury that significantly affected how long and how frequently she could stream because sitting up was physically painful. She was starting to build back up, but at one point she mentioned that it was starting to feel more like when she had been on hiatus because of the injury. I was pretty worried that this was coming since it seemed like streaming was detrimental to her overall health, or at least her recovery. As much as she will be missed, it's impossible to expect her to go through that continuously, and I think she made every effort she could to see if there was a balance that worked. I don't mean that in the sense that she couldn't meet Cover's expectations, especially since it is more accommodating than you might expect, but that she decided she physically couldn't continue.
As much as I'd like to imagine that the vtubers I watch will go forever, I've seen enough examples to know that there are all sorts of reasons working against that. It's just especially hard on both the vtuber and the fans to know it ended early.

It's not just VTubing that's a problem to her health, she is also (and primarily) a professional artist, which is not known for being kind to your back either.
Doing both at the same time would've made a proper recovery extremely difficult, especially since she'd have certain streaming minimums and other activities to fullfil, as part of a group.
For example, I'd expect that Cover wants to start working on new alternative outfits and 3D modells and performances for Council in the near future. The latter would be especially straining on her health and both would be a significant investment by Cover.
So I wouldn't be surprised if they wanted a decision by her on her future streaming plans recently.
It's sad and I really liked her in collabs, but it's hard to argue that this isn't the right choice.

True enough. As much as people joke about Hunter x Hunter hiatuses, it's not like that is by choice, and is a big example of how bad it can get. I think even aside from the physical toll that things like 3D could have, I could see where it might have been really hard mentally since she may have either not been able to do it, or be the only one on stage who sings but doesn't dance. As much as I think the fans would understand, it's tough to convince yourself of that when doubts set in.

I think she's even admitted in the past that she's felt less cut out for the rigor of the job. The relationship seems to be ending on the best of terms and it feels like they didn't want to lose her, even if it was her request. I wouldn't be surprised if She possibly designs one of her Kouhai down the road.

It's sad, and I actually teared up during the announcement (that BGM didn't help), but I understand it's best for her. I hope she'll get batter soon. I know she's a very successful artist, so I'm not worrier about her finances. I just want her to be happy.

I did too. Something about Sana's intro music always made me a little sad. The graduation day is on a weekend, which is probably a good thing since I expect I wouldn't be up to going to work that day. I pulled it together on Coco's graduation, but I didn't watch her as much as the EN members, so I genuinely don't think I could do that this time.

It's a job. The term "graduating" comes from the idol industry because that's what they are. It's a lot of work, and even under the best of circumstances, the people behind the character are going to move on. It'd be really cool if hololive gave Sana's actor a position that accommodates her, but the most important thing is that she's able to function.

Like Ina, Sana is a professional artist primarily, VTuber second. I wouldn’t put it past Cover to still contact her for commissions (maybe even future designs.)
Anyway. I’m absolutely devastated by the news still. Sana is my second favorite Council member. She’s always so cute, funny, and her streams are long but comforting. She has such quirky energy that I don’t see a lot in streamers.
I’m just really going to miss her. So, I’m not missing out on the last few weeks we have left with Sana.

That's a feeling I had gotten in the past. I only ever just popped in to her streams for a few minutes at a time but once, soon after her return from the hiatus for her dogs passing, she said something that stuck me as her heart wasn't really in this whole streamer thing. Mind you she didn't say this, just whatever was said stuck me that way.
And that's something you see a lot in the indie scene, some people have grand visions of how it'll go and when it doesn't meet the expectations, it can be tough. Sometimes the job is just not a good fit.

Vtuber streaming companies demand a pretty rigorous schedule, and even early on Sana was streaming less than most of the others in her generation. It never really seemed like something she wanted to do forever or for it to be her primary thing, which is totally fair.

It's Very sad that she has to go. She has a lot of potential, but things didn't work out this time. I always liked her bigsis vibes and always thought that her design is the best from council, very unique and different from a idolish uniform.

This announcement has pretty well wrecked me the last two days, though my reaction has definitely been compounded by additional factors.
In my case, I woke up to the graduation announcement the day after attending a farewell party for a job that I'm leaving at the end of the month not because I want to leave, not because my employer wants me to leave, but because staying on at the position longer just won't work out for various reasons that I am not going to discuss in a public forum. So I was already in a bit of a rough spot yesterday morning anyways. The fact that my official resignation date coincides with Sana's graduation date is just an extra twist to the knife.
For the time being, I guess I'll go touch grass for a bit, then do my best to make the most of the remaining time Sana has with Hololive and all the rest of her fans.

It is sad to hear to retire, but I know she is a very busy person. But I'm happy to hear (as strange as it sounds) that it is for the most part, drama free. Just...professional obligations, and possible physical health problems from what I know; life simply gets in the way, and that's it period. So best of luck to her and her future endeavors.
And this part is more wish fulfillment. I hope she'll work with Cover again, either behind the scenes, or come back to stream, even if it's "part-time", if that is even possible for a Youtuber. She does seem like the kind of person that you've love to work with again.

I said as much in my prior post; i think even though the on-screen relationship is done, i wouldn't be surprised if she's possibly commissioned down the road for art, be it new costumes or designing a new talent in one of the future generations.
