Here's hoping it does come to America! At this point any Shinsuke Sato title is a must-see winner for me!

if only japanese films and acting are less theatrical i think it would turn out better. Most of the time it felt like i was just watching a stage play. It feels weird and awkward.
But i'm still gonna watch this since i'm a big fan.

I had only seen the short trailer prior to this but wow, this looks really good! I'm not familiar with the source material other than its name but it would seem they put some effort into making a good adaptation.

This will probably the 3rd movie I've seen with the title "Kingdom". Don't get this mixed up with the 'Korean' historical horror series.

Can strongly recommend the manga, it's a one of kind manga and on the top 10 on MaL for a reason : ). first ~50 chapters are quite slow though.

Same here. He's had his misses in my book (Bleach, Death Note 3), but all of his other films have been fantastic as far I'm concerned.

I'd be happy with just a subtitled DVD/BluRay release. I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
But whether or not they do a theater release in North America, really depends on how much talking is in the movie, how much subtitles there are to read. A lot of movie goers likely would lose interest in a heavy dialogue movie.
However, I think if a lot of anime fans supported the movie... it could likely do pretty well as they're used to reading subtitles.

Just watched the movie a couple days ago. As someone who hasn't read the manga and isn't familiar with the source material, I thought it was really good! Japanese movies tend to have a sort of cheap feel to them but this production felt like a big-budget Chinese movie. (That's a high compliment.) The choreography for the fight scenes were well done and you can tell that they put a lot of money into this.
