Top 9! I haven't been in the top 10 in years! But I'm curious - Calathan and Vaisaga, just how much anime do you guys watch? I'm currently unemployed and I barely get to watch anime every day. Having other hobbies + job hunting definitely affect my schedule, but I'm sure you guys have other stuff to do too

It's just a matter of making time. I have a full time job myself but there's always evenings and weekends. I suppose I don't really do much else besides go to the occasional movie or watch a few TV shows (all of which are on break right now).
Plus, it's not only about watching stuff. I keep my ear to the ground and look at news articles and reviews and screenshot dumps for series I'm not watching so I can recognize stuff from shows I'm not actually familiar with. But that's just me. I'm fairly certain Calathan is one of those face recognition bots. |

Even though I watch a lot of anime in terms of number of titles, I don't think I spend more time watching anime than anyone else here. I have a full time job, and also spend a lot of time on other hobbies like video games. I watch a lot of very short anime, so while I generally watch 120-150 anime a year, only about 30 or so of those would be TV series with full length episodes. I particularly don't watch a lot of TV shows as they air. For instance, this season I think I've watched something like 4 episodes total from currently airing shows, but in the same time I've finished nearly 20 anime that are less than an hour in length (that's counting OVAs that go with longer anime that I already watched).
I think I get a lot of points because I read a lot of the articles and reviews on this site, and I pay attention to what sort of things people like to post and what they seem to be watching, and because I am good at recognizing how old a show is even if I haven't seen it. Also, I'm just willing to spend a bunch of time trying to find the answers. So if it looks like a image is from a certain genre and time period, I'll just look up every show from that genre and time period until I either find the answer or determine that I'm by going to find it that way. |
