Cause it will take time to raise a Kong the same size as the current Gojira.
They are to feed Kong tons of milk everyday and of course, hormonal injection for growth.
But 2020, huh... I am hoping for a blockbuster then. Like a deathmatch between the two.

And hey, you've got a brand new Toho Godzilla next year, which'll probably lead to another, the Skull Island movie and Godzilla 2 to pass the time.

Uuuuugh....
The worst fighting match up. Cannonly Godzilla wins 99 out of 100 times. And four years from now. Mark your calendars people... And with how the recent Godzilla movie turned out, expect only ten minutes of Monster fighting, the rest will be told through metaphors with an American soldier.

Marvel Universe, watch out.
Seriously, I hope this turns out to be a really really cool thing. I hope they add some other cool monsters and giant things that would really spice up the universe.

That's some Marvel-level announcement.

Nah, this is all planned. They know Kong is going to invade the Tokyo Olympics but that's on Godzilla's turf, which he won't like. So Godzilla is going to have to bitch slap Kong back to Skull Island from Japan.

How big is King Kong? Any edition of Godzilla is going to be several times more massive, and he has that radiation breath. I don't see how Kong has a chance to even last 10 seconds unless they scale Kong up several times.

Depending on the adaptation.
King Kong 40 - 148 feet
Godzilla: 50 - 110 meters.

Kong will just get struck by lightning again, and grow 10x his normal size

How in the hell can King Kong ever have any chance in beating Godzilla? His size alone can defeat him! He would have to use some sort of steroid upgrade and even a significant growth spurt to ever stand a chance!
Regardless, a modern day remake of King Kong vs Godzilla with today's special effects? I think we can already know that this will make some serious bank! Just bring in Pacific Rim into this and we are all set!

Still waiting on a Godzilla vs. Gamera film. Still looking forward to this one though.

Now, if they could get a cameo by a Toho employee, that would be something.

I love how you ignorantly assume one U.S.-made Godzilla movie automatically means that all giant monster movies made here will turn out exactly the same.
