I want to buy all the episodes to berserk but a friend of mine said that the animation was pretty bad.
Is this true?

Compared with more recent shows, the animation is lacking in many areas, but the real strength of the show comes through despite this. The story, at least for me, was excellent. It's worth buying in my opinion. I did, and I've watched all of them twice without being bored once.

Nothing at all wrong with Berserk's animation. It's no Production I. G., but it's not bad at all. Some of the artwork in the manga (particularly the last few volumes) is absolutely gorgeous. Still, it's the story and character development that count in Berserk. The animation won't ruin it by a long shot. You should go buy it all. Then tell your friends to buy it. Then they tell their friends, and so on. (NO BOOTLEGS!) |

The animation is low budget but the arts suit the series really well(It has a "gritty" fell to the art wich make it just right for such a dark and gritty show).But the story and the characters are FANTASTIC,they are vary real,vary emotional,the all have ther own personality(I like how guts is not a dumb guy with a big sword but more withdrawn from others)and flaws.But be warned it is vary dark and violent and DO NOT judge this show by the first few episodes I did,Now i regreat not seeing this anime masterpiece but after episode six it is just a great ride.Highley recomended.Do not judge a show by art and animation in doing so you may miss a gem with a few rough spots that polish out with its story cahracters and music.

First you shouldn't be basing whether you get an excellent series on whether it's animation is good or not, you should get it because you like the charachters, and plot etc. Second as people have said before, the animation isn't really all that bad, it doesn't sport the best animation, but it's still good. |
