anime#896
I can only find this entry which says it's a movie, but I downloaded a 6 episode fansubed version that seems to be the same total length. Is it a movie that this fangroup chopped into episodes or a OVA series that got mistitled as a movie? Any help clearing this up would be appreciated, I like accuracy. |

I searched around and found the title was released in two different patterns. It was first released "episode by episode" (six total) on the Internet as early as April 2001 via @nifty AnimeFan service. After all episodes had been broadcasted, the complete movie with all six episodes combined was released on December 15, 2001 -- still on the net. That's why the largest fansub pub (you know which one...) listed it as an original net animation (ONA). However, on July 6, 2002 it was premiered theatrically at Theatre Ikebukuro, and most sources still list it as a movie of 95 minutes.

Allcinema:
SF Movie DataBank (bilingual, but do not trust this site alone, as its romanizations are filled with misspellings):
Cimema topics online:
Vendors like Happinet Online and Kinokuniya both consider it as a movie as well. A recent case similar to it is Byousoku 5 Centimeter: Yahoo! Japan Premium users can watch its first "episode" over the net before its theatrical premiere. It is still considered as one movie, not a three-episode ONA. Similar disputes between OVA and movies had been discussed before. |
