Maybe it'll get funded if they advertise out to the furry community...

Bagi is quite simply one of the weirdest things I've ever seen. Most Tezuka stuff just gives me a slight feeling of unease.

This special and the Lion book episode about a guy who falls in love with a poster both are entertaining to a certain degree but mostly they are just very weird

Calling all furries! Bagi's waiting for you! Wink

but seriously, it's a great show (albeit with the usual Tezuka cheesiness) I think it would be perfect for nice modern remake

Really really hoping the Tezuka films succeed but for now people need to save Black Jack! Over 220 people preordered the first set but only 80 are back for the second one?

F-Man: They're probably waiting for the Dezaki OAVs.

Again, it's probably something to do with people not realizing it's funding yet, or they haven't received the first set so they don't want to contribute to the second yet.

But everyone got an email last month, and I can't imagine people who pledged for the first set would be willing that the series not get any more volumes just because they didn't get the first one in their hands yet.

Maybe Anime Sols ought to send another email soon.

I'm really hoping that this feature gets funded. It's part of the Bremen 4 campaign. Plus you get Prime Rose as well. This was a feature I had never heard of until a friend of mine showed it to me. It's definitely a rare work that many should see.

Hopefully people will start pledging for Black Jack soon, either that or we need to find 26 rich Black Jack fanatics who want the Super Nova package or 1,265 people who want to pledge $10 to help out. Every little bit helps.

For Bagi (Baggy), we'd need 1,274 people to pledge $10. If everybody chipped in then we would easily make the goals. Exclamation
Waiting is nervewracking Shocked
Dec 12 is my birthday too, it'd be a nice present if it makes it's goal Smile

AnimeSols just announced on their facebook that they're gonna hold a crazy promotion this Black Friday and to hold off on pledging until Friday.
Hmm... wonder what this promotion will be about:?:
https://www.facebook.com/AnimeSols

EDIT: From a Tumblr post this looks like this will be what the promotion will consist of [I reblogged it on my tumblr as well http://trunkschan90.tumblr.com/ ]:
Quote:
Anime Sols (animesols.com) will hold a special promotion during Black Friday weekend where all pledges will count twice toward goals!

During the promotion, all pledges for Anime Sols Support Packages will be counted twice toward the video set’s goal, e.g. if a user pledges for a $40 Core package, the total pledge amount will rise by $80 instead of $40! The promotion will apply to ALL packages and ALL sets, but will only be for a limited time. Don’t miss this chance for your support to count twice as much as usual!

I remember the old furry guy in my college anime club treated this OVA like it was some kind of holy grail and spent years trying to find a laserdisc of it. He finally did track down a copy and subtitled it for the club to screen, upon which it was met mostly with confusion and derision. Fun memories!

I can totally see that...

Even at the time this work was somewhat controversial, it was a lot closer to Tezuka's more avant guard stuff than the kid-oriented or sci-fi material used in the previous 24 hour movies. You won't see something like this just anywhere, that's for sure.
