OK, I won't ask or bother to look into what's the cause of her PTSD, and I'll respect her privacy per her request. I'm not familiar with her work (as a matter of fact, I never heard of her until this article), but nice to know that she is a Hāfu (she's half Egyptian, hence her first name). But anyway, I wish her a quick & swift recovery and hoping to see her getting back to work. |

Personally I've been worried she's been overworked. I'm happy for her but her schedule has been PACKED. That's got to take a toll on mental health. I wish her the best.

As someone who has also dealt with mental health struggles, I wish her all the best. I've really enjoyed her recent work and i look forward to hearing her again in the future.

Speaking from my own recent experiences, mental health is no joke. Talking about it is how you discover it, and taking care of yourself is how you start healing it. That being said, I've really enjoyed her work the last few years and wish her the best in her recovery.

One of the seiyu late 2010s, and 2020s will be remember for in anime community.
She is pretty much the new Ayako Kawasumi, IMO. |

Are you living under the rock for the last 5 years? Or are you one of the guys who watch dub only or do not care about JP VAs at all? Hard not to hear about one of the most prominient female VAs of the current generation concidering how wide of the portfolio she has. She's one of my favourite female seiyuus and I'm so sad she has to deal with something like this.. I hope she can recover soon
I wonder if she'll keep going with seiyuu to yoasobi, I really have a good time with her and Seki. I wish her the best of luck >< |

Rie Takahashi and Kana Ichinose? Or maybe Aoi Koga and Atsumi Tanezaki? |

You just misread my message due to a typo. I meant "one of the" not "one of three". |

It isn't our business, but I'm glad she and her doctor at least have a firm grasp on the cause of her PTSD. That's a worthwhile comfort. Sometimes people develop these restless feelings without knowing why and it can be difficult to work through them.

This the first time I've heard of any Japanese celeb needing a break due to PTSD. Here's hoping she's getting the help she needs.

Same here. I didn't know who she was until I've discovered that she does the voice of Power in Chainsaw Man. |

I don't follow seiyuu like many around here do, but I am familiar with Fairouz and her work. (Probably because her unusual first name caught my attention?) Have to wonder if this is just overwork or if some over-eager fans might be involved. Either way, more power to her for keeping her mental health in mind.

Same here, I think this is the first time I've heard of a seiyu using PTSD as a legitimate excuse for taking times off from their work. Hopefully, this report could lead to the Japanese population to take mental health more seriously, and destigmatize it. Also, beside being a anime/manga fan, I think a lot of you on this forum know that I'm a long time K-pop fan, and I appreciate K-pop idols talking about and tackling mental health and being open about it, something that I didn't think that East Asians and the whole Asian-American/AAPI community back then could openly talk about given the taboo stigma regarding mental health. For those of you that are not in the wind about it: Talking about depression can be hard for Asian Americans Talk therapy falls short for many Asian Americans Democrats in Congress reintroduce bill to break down mental health stigmas among Asian Americans The dissolution of 'Tiger Moms' and the new face of Asian American parenting So it's a big leap when it comes to mental health in the AAPI communities and we're taking a big step away from the taboo/stigmatization of mental health. I'm glad to see East Asian celebrities like K-pop idols, and voice actors like Fairouz Ai are doing their part to open up discussion and dialogue amongst East Asians, and giving mental health a 2nd look in that communities/demographics. |

It could also just be over work (two words) as I recently experienced myself. I'm not familiar with Fairouz's resume but from what I can recall from reading articles here, the characters she plays aren't reserved. |
