Now if only they picked up the first Dominion Tank Police... then I will be happy.

That's weird, why pick the second OVA without the first? Or maybe they're working on that. Either way, it's not nearly as good or memorable, sort of like the Crash to the BGC OVA proper.
Both need a new transfer in any case, older anime really shouldn't be licensed unless they have that.

I picked up the first dominion tank police ages ago, but never did find a copy of this one. I am most pleased.

This reminds me, I still have the OVA recorded from the original Sci-Fi Channel broadcast.

Cool. I still have my old copy and have yet to get around to watching it. But folks if they missed it they should grab it.

At first I was like, "YES!!!!"
Then I saw the "New" there, and now I'm all like, "Awwww."
Why couldn't they get the first one instead? THAT'S the good one.

Love DMP, tho they rly should have gotten the first ova's as well and done a set. Put "from the creator of ghost in the shell" on the cover, and make profit.

Another rescue by ADV!
I remember buying the VHS and some USMC DVD release (was there more than one?) of the original Dominion OVAs, but I never picked up the later OVA series. I'm not sure why I didn't, but I also don't remember much of anything about that one at this point, either. ^^;
I probably also won't bother this time. I'll save the money for the US trade deficit, and my next Amazon Japan order. ^^

Even though this isn't the ideal release, I appreciate it.
It's funny how Maiden Japan has gone from being an obscure nobody *wink* *wink* Neo-ADV also-ran to one of the companies whose releases I'm most interested in. Putting Mobile Police Patlabor out on Blu-ray'll do that for you.
My reaction was similar, except instead of, "Awwww," I yelled, "NEW?!? SON OF A BITCH!"
I've wanted a rerelease of Dominion Tank Police since I got back to anime, only to be taunted at every turn. I think that I'll buy this anyway since I am a little interested in it (The only part of the franchise I'll have no part of is Tank S.W.A.T.) and it might encourage them. I'm inclined to doubt that they thought that licensing the sequel first was a good idea, so maybe one of Japan's infamous copyright snarls or some bizarre strategy by the licensor is to blame.

Still got my DVD of both OVA series!
And it's worth noting that Dominion Tank Police was original released by CPM and New Dominion Tank Police was original released by Manga Video, so there could be licensing issue that allow them to get release one but not the other.

CPM and Manga Video were basically the same entity.
Oops, scratch that. I'm thinking of US Manga Corps. Carry on.
